Novel interface, great features
There are so many keychain LED microlights out there that offer bright light in a small package, how to choose? I feel I've tried most of them, and this is my favorite.Pros: Great new finger wave interface. I suppose it's possible trigger this accidentally, but I'm not sure how that would happen. Don't be put off by its novelty, it takes about 5 seconds to learn and remember. "Swipe on, swipe off", plus swipe 1, 2 or 3 times within 2 seconds for, in order (after the getting "high" power with the first swipe"): low, flash, or off, or swipe-then-hold, if you want variable dimming. You can also reverse swipe at any time for "off". The variable dimming is a wonderful feature in such a small, inexpensive light. Fit and finish are excellent, it's a bit larger than the tiniest micros like a Photon, Pulsar or Freedom, and if you're still not sold, it uses Nite Ize's excellent S-biner carabiner clip which is far superior to any clip you will find on a small flashlight. And one more thing: if you leave it on, it'll turn itself off automatically in 4 minutes, but not before giving you a warning flash at 3:45.Cons: A major one for some people: the swipe interface does NOT seem to work with gloves, at least not the fairly thin synthetic gloves I tried. Also, changing batteries does involve removing 2 tiny Phillips screws. Not good. I would certainly not want to be messing around with tiny black screws in the field at night. Better to get two Microlights, and save one as a backup.

bright small light with problematic switch
this Nite Ize light is quite bright and very small, pendant -sized and light weight. its really perfect for a keyring or hanging from my dog's collar at night. it seems to be water resistan and well-built.the only problems I had were with the switch mechanism- the "rub" switch. it takes a very light touch to turn it on andcourse through its brightness and strobe settings. but sometimes it doesnt work well. and if the light is damp or wet,it wont work at all. I have to dry it off to get the switch to work.otherwise, its fine. amazon sells the batteries 2032 for 10 items for $8 bucks. thats great too. I havent worn out my first set yet. the back is secured with 2 set screws, so you have to get it off with a phillips-head jewelers screwdriver. thats a little inconvenient.all in all, a good product with the exception of the problematic switch

Nice key-chain light with issues
Nice key-chain light. The Swipe-to-Shine switch takes a little practice, but its tech is same as most touch-screens (capacitance), so not too mysterious. Pretty bright on Hi. Dims if you press and hold after selecting Hi, or swipe again to select Low, Strobe, Off. The baby carabiner is a nice touch, but I did lose one of these that was clipped onto a zipper on my man-bag, just a heads-up. Update 4/21: Replaced batteries a year or two ago; carried on zipper-pull inside my bag since then. Tried it today -- dead. New batteries, and scraping crud off of sensor area until plastic is shiny again, fixed it. But no clue why it would turn on inside my bag. It's hard enough to turn on with swipe. But I now recall it used to turn itself on frequently, when dangling on the outside zipper of my bag. Mysterious. Not a reliable emergency-use light.

Higher Tech, Bright, More Durable Microlight
Bought one of these capacitive swipe-to-switch lights for myself and for others in my family. A few points of review:1. It's a bit more expensive than the original mechanical click-switch Nite Ize Inova models (by about $3), and only slightly more expensive than other competitive mechanical microlights.2. Currently it only comes with a white LED ;-( Hopefully green or blue, too, in the future for night vision purposes.3. Uses two 2032 cells (higher capacity, thicker) than the originals which use two 2016 cells (lower capacity, thinner). So it is a bit thicker and slightly larger than its original counterpart, and it's larger than some competitive microlights.4. The operation seems more foolproof against accidental switching on of the light (pressing on it in your pocket or purse), but in fact I have accidentally switched on this new light while fishing my keys out of my pocket... It will turn itself off after a few minutes (in high and variable modes) to save its batteries.5. This new capacitive swipe-to-switch will not suffer mechanical fatigue or collapse issues as the originals or competitors can.6. It comes with a Nite Ize micro S-Biner, much nicer and more versatile than the original model's clip or competitor's split-rings.The Microlight STS added features and functions are worth its slight price premium.

Threw it away, kept the clip though...
Bright, convenient, and the clip is good quality. But using the "swipe" feature to turn them on and off isn't always reliable. And they occasional turn on when bumped or brushed by something. Then one of them just decided it was done working entirely after only a couple of months; there's no way the battery was drained, as I only used it for a couple of seconds maybe once or twice a week. I was just fidgeting with it, and it just wouldn't turn on. Whacked it against the table and it worked again...for a day. Threw it out, but kept the little clip.

Not water resistant, can't replace batteries either.
Too bad you can't give zero stars! The light is pretty bright for being so small but don't let it get wet or it'll run until the batteries are dead. And when I tried to remove the extremely small screws I couldn't get either of them to budge and repeated attempts resulted in my stripping one of the screw heads. So now I have a useless light.

GENIAL
Super pratique, éclaire très bien, lumière vive. Facile à allumer, juste en l'effleurant. Ne s'abîme pas.

Well made and functions great
This works fantastic. The swipe to turn on and off feature is very good. Well made and plenty bright enough for a key chain light. Highly recommended.

Buenas linterna

Passez votre chemin...
