This is a 12 inch x 18 inch x 0.12 inch see-through acrylic mirror. It can be used to make a smart mirror, an infinity mirror, used for surveillance, for theatrical applications, or whatever else you can think of. This kind of mirror is also known as a two-way mirror or sometimes as a one-way mirror. It is made of acrylic which is naturally shatter resistant, making a safer alternative to glass. Note: Make sure you peel off the protective plastic covering from both sides before use.FAQ:1. What is a two-way mirror?A two-way mirror is coated with a thin, almost-transparent layer of metal. The result is a mirrored surface that reflects some light and is penetrated by the rest. Light always passes equally in both directions. However, when one side is brightly lit and the other is dark, the darker side becomes difficult to see from the brightly lit side because it is masked by the brighter reflection of the lit side.2. How do you cut it?The acrylic can be cut, but be careful not to damage it. I recommend leaving the protective covering on the mirror until you finish cutting and even then you may still damage the mirror in the process. You can use a plexiglass cutting tool, a razor blade, a dremmel, or a laser cutter. For a plexiglass cutting tool or a razor blade, use a straight edge and do 6-10 passes cutting all the way to the edge of the acrylic.Finally, please pay attention to care instructions on the information label attached to the mirror.3. How do you clean it safely?The reflective side doesn't have a protective coating, so avoid wiping it with anything if possible. To decrease the need to clean the reflective side, face the non-reflective side outward. To clean the non-reflective side, use a completely clean microfiber cloth together with Zeiss 50% isopropyl alcohol. Or, if you are able to, an even better option is Novus 1 Plastic Clean & Shine together with Novus Polish Mates or Kimwipes.

- Acrylic can scratch fairly easily. Please treat with care. If you expect some wear, face the back of the mirror so that it will receive the wear. If the back receives wear, you can potentially buff it out; however, if the front receives wear, it can remove the reflective coating. Please see FAQ in description area below for more useful info.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, safer to use as a SFX

I build the SFX for our local group's annual haunted house, so I bought one of these for an effect. It works just as it should, and is much cheaper than a glass 2-way mirror. Also, it's much safer if some guest goes bonkers and tries to break it. Tip: I used a 3-way light switch to control this. (The switches in your house where you can flip either of 2 switches to control a light) I hooked it up so that switching "UP" lights a light on one side, flipping the switch "DOWN" lights the light on the other side. This way, only one light is lit at a time so you can switch from mirror to see-through. The sudden change in lighting gets the guest's attention. Works great!

This arrived in a giant box! I was so worried it was going to be broken, but it was very very bubble wrapped inside. It arrived in perfect condition. I made a huge magic mirror for a class project, and it worked out great! It's thick, but yes, you can see through it. I really enjoyed working on this project! Ended up getting a B in the class (aww ysss)! And yes, I know it's expensive. Trust me I did quite a bit of looking around and almost bought something cheap. But I think if you're going to make something for your house that you intend to use daily, or for a gift, spend the money on a quality peice of acrylic. The company even reached out to me to make sure everything was ok when it arrived. Spend the money, it's seriously worth it! Warning!! If you are planning to size this, be aware, its brittle, not as bad as glass, but you need to score it deeply...do NOT try to cut with a saw. Also, be aware, not being glass, it scuffs and scratches easily...but...I protected mine by putting a lexan cover on it..
