The bags that come with the pumps are not great, very cheap. This bag will last years, lets a good flow in. Some advice, don't let this bag come near the pump, put some filtering material around the pump. If you do, it will limit the flow to the pump quickly if you have some typical dirty pond water with leaves. This bag is for big stuff. Pretty sure it will not stop snails from getting to the pump. I'm concerned that fry will get in there and get sucked up by the filter.For use inside a filter (the intended use for this product), a plastic zipper would work better than a drawstring, albeit a bit more expensive. For this little hack, plastic snaps would be handy, or perhaps velcro.
