While it would probably work fine for what it was made, (for protecting ear piercings) I bought the 17 inch oblong one specifically for spacing my bony knees and it works perfectly. I bought the square one to use to protect my mult-ipierced ears but that does not work very well because its too hard. I have gotten around to taken some of the batting out and I think it will work fine once I do that. I hadn't done that yet because I'd discovered what a great knee spacing pillow it made. Now that I have the longer pillow I might use the square pillow for spacing my ankles rather than for my ears. Its just too hard for that. I did also make pillow cases for both of the pillows because I don't like the idea of throwing the complete pillows in the washers. I'd rather these pillows came with removable cases that could be washed. That would be better than sending them out the way they are sent. But I'm not going to reduce stars for that because I knew that when I ordered them.

I purchased this pillow because I’ve recently gotten conch piercings in both ears. It’s made a world of difference and it’s keeping my piercings safe and making it possible to sleep. This would be super handy for people using earbuds at night for ASMR or to listen to music before they fall asleep. It is a little firm, however it can be adjusted by removing some of the fluff inside. Which is mentioned in the listing and in instructions that are included. So any other reviews complaining about the firmness should be disregarded since those consumers could easily solve their own problems if they used their eyes and simply read. I haven’t removed any of the fluff from mine yet just because I prefer the firmness right now. It’s also not so firm your head would be uncomfortable. I want the firmness for piercing reasons so it’s all about preferences. I say if you’re in the market for a pillow like this either because of fresh piercings, you use earbuds or you have other ear concerns and can’t have pressure on them then buy this. It definitely helps, serves its purpose and makes sleeping more comfortable during the healing process. Also my photo is just after taking it out of the packaging and doing the recommending squishing and whatnot. It’s supposed to reach its full shape after 24 hours, but honestly it’s pretty good right out of the box after you give it the required squishing and fluffing all around.

I finally found a pillow with a hole in it which was comfortable. I lije that it is narrow by the ear. The other ear pilliws pushed on my face too much, and I wear a CPAP mask.. I've spent the last 20 yr. Trying out different pillows because once I sleep, I dont move. The cartilage on my ear gets pressure sore and painful. I love the satin cover, too. My ear Thanks you.

The hole isn’t quite big enough for my ear to sit comfortably, I snag my piercings on it sometimes trying to just fit it in the hole but maybe I just have big ears idk? Also is pretty firm I took out a bit of the stuffing. Gets the job done in desperate piercing healing times. A travel pillow would prob do the same job

I was skeptical that the ear pillow would work. It is actually unabtrusive and I sleep through the night. When it is time to wash it, removing and returning the cotton filling may be challenging. So far, so good. The sore on my ear lobe can heal without the irritation of a regular pillow. The curve on one side fits nicely around my neck.

I bought this for my elderly father who is a side sleeper from a curved spine. In his case I had to remove filling from the pillow to accommodate his physiology. Fortunately this pillow has an access zipper that allowed me to do this without cutting the pillow. Otherwise this worked perfectly.

Great pillow! It allows me to sleep comfortably after surgery on my ear.

This pillow is absolutely wonderful when you're a side sleeper and have a new piercing. Just got my cartilage pierced (and have other ear piercings) and being a side sleeper I really needed this pillow to protect the new piercing. It's very comfortable - soft yet supportive. The hole in the middle is perfect. I originally got the smaller version but this one is even better as it's bigger. Love them both though.

Works great! Makes sleeping with a new piercing infinitely easier!
