The razor to last a lifetime
The 6s could be the only razor you'll need for the rest of your life. Even with a higher price tag than some other popular razors, the build quality is impressive with all parts being well machined and the threads being smooth the screw in but never unintentionally coming loose. The weight of the stainless is great and even though it has a standard/short handle, it feels great in my larger hands (but also know this is subjective). The plates let you dial in your shave while still being a simple bomb proof design, and seems to offer a solid shave across different blades to accommodate your preference. It takes a few trial and error shaves to find the plate/blade "golden combo", once dialed in the razor provides a great shave every time without fail. Some ownership tips, the razor is forgiving on angle but will leave you with a subpar shave, so if you're not getting a smooth finish, check your technique. If it's tugging, chances are you want to swap either plates or blades (for me, nacets tug in this razor but work fine in others. If that happens to you, I find feathers are perfectly sharp and tame in this for my somewhat coarse hair). Finally, I'd recommend starting with plate 3. Better information is available for more knowledgeable sources, but that's my subjective recommendation.

Definitely worth the upgrade.
I purchased a Rockwell 6s razor as an upgrade from my Merur 34C daily shaver after reading several positive recommendations. While I found nothing wrong with my Merkur, the Rockwell is definitely a step up. The adjustable heads are key. I found, for me, the number 4 works very well on my beard and skin type. Once I found "my" setting , I tried various blades from different manufactures and found that all seem to give very good results. Clearly the better quality blades last longer and do a better job, but even inexpensive blades did a commendable job. This included cheap "store brand" blades purchased at a local grocery store. The razor I purchased is very well constructed. I would say it's built like a tank. The 6s is a SOLID, well built razor, and heavy. I was quite surprised by the difference in weights between the Merkur and the Rockwell. At first use, to me, the Rockwell seemed like someone got the bright idea of bolting a double edge razor blade on to an old Ford truck axle. The Rockwell is solid and heavy. The Merkur, hollow, and much lighter. At first, I had doubts that the Rockwell's quality and alleged capability justified the extra cost. I was also used to the lightness of the Merkur and was concerned that the heavy Rockwell would be clumsy, unwieldy and difficult to maneuver, perhaps resulting in nicks and cuts. This proved not to be the case, however, as once I had the Rockwell is dialed in, and with a heavy lather of Col. Conk's shave soap, I have consistently gotten BBS shaves. I have to agree with other reviewers that the Rockwell is a step up from the Merkur, and is definitely worth the money. The Merkur, I still like and will keep, but now goes into my travel kit. The Rockwell has been promoted to daily shaver.

Great Product and Customer Support
I just received my new Rockwell 6S and upon closer inspection I noticed a casting flaw on the #2/4 adjustment plate. As with any cast part this can occasionally happen. I can see why quality control missed it and most people would ( See photo.). I just tend to be meticulous. I contacted Amazon. They wanted me to return the razor, wait for their refund, and have me reorder. I just thought this would take too much time. Immediately, I emailed Rockwell Razor explaining the flawed part.I had read several reviews that their customer support was lacking and I was a bit concerned. However, I received an email, back, the following day asking if I could provide a photo. I did. A few hours later, I received another email with order confirmation for the replacement part. I received it.I just want to say I had no problems with Rockwell and they made it right. They stand behind their products. My special thanks to Brar, who was my Customer Service Advocate. He was understanding, quick and efficient. Now I ordered the Rockwell 6S to replace my forgotten Merkur Futur. It provided years of great shaves. However, towards the end I noticed the the blade gap became uneven. That’s because, it’s an inherent issue with twist-style adjustable razors. Yes I fixed it by squaring the spring ends and using flat washers. The Rockwell design uses preset bottom plates to change the blade geometry. So, it does not suffer from this-twist style design flaw and will not wear out or change with use or age.Overall I am extremely very happy with it and the Rockwell Company. It’s heavy. Which is good. Metal razors tend to hold onto heat. So, preheating and rinsing with hot water provides for a nice, comfortable hot shave.I paired it with Feather Platinum Blades. These are the best blades I’ve used. A warning. The best for me probably won’t be the best for you. So, as with any DE safety razor, try different blades to find yours.Rockwell Razor is 5⭐️

Solid Razor that Adjusts for Close Shaves
Originally bought a double edged safety razor to avoid the high cost and waste of a cartridge razor. Buying a safety razor turned into a quest for the ultimate smooth shave. Bought the Rockwell 6S because the shaving edge is adjustable using different plates. Also, like the weight of the razor. Able to use the weight of the razor when shaving most of the time to avoid pressing down. Can get a very smooth shave. Details are below:Shaving Before Safety Razor1. Use an electric razor to shorten whiskers and minimize the wear on the expensive shave cartridges2. Dry shave with the cartridge razor to further shorten the whiskersShaving with the Safety Razor1. Wet lather shave with the safety razor2. Use electric razor on dimpleMain Results1. Very smooth shave with Rockwell2. Occasional nicks, but less bleeding if nicked and more easily stopped than nicks from cartridge razor3. Takes longer (About 10 minutes vs 3 minutes)Lessons1. Using a safety razor started me on the quest for the ultimate smooth shave that is virtually impossible to achieve. (There are always a few spots with slightly longer whiskers after shaving.)2. Other than shortening the dimple whiskers, the electric shaver does no shaving after using the safety razor3. The safety razor gives a much smoother shave than the cartridge razor4. Previously had 5 o'clock shadow and often shaved if going out in the evening. No longer necessary5. Big learning curve. Many more variables including Razor and its settings, blade, cream, shaving brush to learn to optimize

Very solid Razor. Close shave. Good quality. Works well.
The quality of the razor is extremely good. I prefer a longer handle - it is short. The packaging is top-notch. You open the container, it has the razor handle, razor top, the angled bed, 5 razor blades, and instructions on what the different plates are for. You have 1-3, 2-4, 5-6 plates. The plate has R2 (for example) on the back of the plate. The razor edge at the bottom of that R2 is the R2 (closer shave) and the R4 is the opposite side - not as close of a shave. The higher number is for longer hair (beard) and lower number is for closer skin-close shave. I strongly advise using shaving cream and rinsing out the razor as you shave. I use a bristled brush to clean out the razor as the shaving cream and hair can get stuck on the under carriage of the razor's plate. The razor blades are Swiss made and appear very sharp but flex a lot - so be careful dropping them on the plate and securing them. Overall, I am happy with this product. I think I will be passing this down to my son in a decade or two. I wish it came with a coupon or information on which blades are ideal to use with this razor. If you are looking for a closer shave than an electric or off-the-shelf disposable razor - this will work for you. This can be used for a male or female. The cost of the razor and purchasing of the razor blades in 1-year will pay for itself.

Best Razor I've EVER Owned
I tried a few different razors once I was old enough to step away from cartridge razors, and this is by far the best one I've tried after just a few shaves. Being able to change the blade levels is worth every penny. 10/10 recommended

Expensive (relatively) but you get what you pay for.
My first safety razor was a Facón Double Edge Safety Razor. I liked how easy it was to load blades. It was a bit too agressive for me though. I'd get nicks from time to time and often razor burn. The Rockwell with a lower setting was so much easier and comfortable to use. It rinses much easier than the butterfly style. My only complaint is loading and unloading the blade is a bit clumsy (or is it me that's clumsy ;) ) I'm sure I'll get used to the new tool soon. Love the shave.

The Tank
I just tried the Rockwell 6S safety razor for the first time today, using a Gillette Seven O’Clock Super Platinum blade, and I must say—it lives up to the hype. With the adjustability of the plates, it’s like having a new razor every time you shave, tailored to how your beard is on any given day.Starting with plate 6 for the initial pass and switching to plate 2, I achieved a clean, close shave in just two passes. I only needed minor touch-ups, skipping a full third pass against the grain, which is typically where razor burn or irritation can sneak in. The best part? No nicks, no cuts—just a smooth, BBS finish without a hint of razor burn. The ability to adjust the plates is a standout feature, giving you a personalized shaving experience each time. If your beard feels particularly thick one day, you can start with a more aggressive setting and dial it down as you go. It’s versatility at its finest!Absolutely worth the investment, especially for those who enjoy tailoring their shave. And for an even better experience, I’d recommend pairing it with Proraso Green products—trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
