This works very well. I never had a digital meat thermometer before, so this is a game changer. Very easy to use. The display is backlit when you first turn it on (by opening it), plus there’s a button to turn the light back on after it shuts off. I use this feature, but if you have young eyes or a well-lit kitchen, it might not matter to you. One tip: I’m sometimes tempted to stick the probe in and then use it as a fork to move the meat around, but i stop myself because I’m pretty sure that would be the end of it. Treat it gently, don’t submerge the body (I don’t know why you would), and you should have no problems. It really takes the guess work out of more situations than I thought. Of course it’s great for meats and fish, but it also helps when I’m heating something that’s pre-cooked but frozen. It’ll tell you when the center is thawed and cooked. I must have overcooked everything up until now, which dries things out. This helps stop me from over-cooking as well as under-cooking.

I wanted to test my cooking because I heard that meat should be cooked at a certain tempature and I had never really tested the tempature while cooking before. This digital thermometer was a good decision be cause it has the temps listed right there on the handle as a quick reference. It also automatically turns on when opening the temperature probe and shuts off when you close it. The digital readout is large enough to see at arms length and the magnet in the handle comes in handy to attach to my grill cover or tray.

This is my favorite kitchen thermometer. It’s magnetic so you can easily hang it on your stove so it doesn’t get lost. It turns on very quickly and easily and also temps your food in seconds I’ve had this for well over a year and haven’t had to replace the battery. Overall a very great product and I’ll continue to use it in my kitchen.
