Smoky, and sweet pecans! I only wish that I could control myself of the portions. This is VERY good made as a Old Fashioned!Will be buying this again!

This is my favorite Maple Syrup - Goes well with French Toast or Pancakes dipped in it with a little melted butter added. It adds a Flavor twist to Gritz, Oatmeal and of course Malt-o-meal. A Little goes a long way. I Love Pecans - TX gal - and smoked foods so this is great! No FAKE Smoke flavor here! Variety is the Spice of Life so I have a large collection of the different Runamok Maple Syrups aged in Barrels and Infused ones as well. I just ran out of this Pecan one so I am hunting it down again. I Do Not want to be without it when the urge strikes me again. I can recommend the Rum one as well. Tip #1 - Keep in Fridge - then when empty (without rinsing it out) refill the wonderful glass bottle with regular PURE Vermont Maple Syrup, it adds a little extra flavor to regular Pure Maple Syrup - be sure to add an extra label to it. Those bottles fit so nice in the door of the fridge as well. Tip #2 - Fancy grade Pure Maple Syrup - has a lighter more delicate flavor than the the Medium Amber and the Dark Amber is usually used for cooking. When visiting a Maple farm Sugar Shack where they boil down the Sap to make Syrup I learned the reason the Dark Syrup has such a deeper flavor is because it has to get more caramelized (later in the season). I prefer the Medium the most but sometimes I am just in the mood for the light Fancy Grade - like over some vanilla ice cream. Tip #3 - I find I prefer VERMONT Pure Maple Syrup over New Hampshire and Canada's. I won't even buy the others anymore, just not the same - don't know why - just isn't. Tip #4 - The Rectangle Glass Bottles fit together so nice and take up less room in the Fridge in such a nice organized way. So I have all my flavors of Runamok Maple Syrups together. Hmmm... what am I in the mood for today? Tip #5 - Variety is the Spice of Life - Everyone has their favorites - I Like the Pecan and Rum ones - but their are so many - I encourage you to try as many as you can. You never know what will hit your fancy and you could be missing out.And - No - I am Not in anyway Affiliated with Runamok Maple Syrups nor was I asked to Review it - It just upset me when I read some people Dissing my favorite Syrup as if they would put fake smoke in it! Also - if it is too strong for you (which I cannot even imagine) - Just don't Drown it in syrup - or add some Regular Pure Maple syrup to your Dipping cup. THIS IS A GREAT SYRUP!! Thank you Runamok.

If you like a lot of smokiness this has a lot of smoke flavor, makes a great old fashion drink, witch is whatI primarily purchase it for.

Smoked pecan flavor really comes through the sweet maple taste. Wonderful balanced syrup.

I love real maple syrup when I make waffles and pancakes. So I'm always tempted to buy the best quality authentic syrup, as it can really enhance the taste. In this case, my first bite of a waffle with the pecan wood smoked maple syrup was truly distinctive; it tasted different than any syrup I had ever had. I liked it, but... the smoky flavor was really strong, such that by the third or fourth bite, it felt like I was having a waffle with my syrup instead of the other way around. I have since started using it as "concentrate" and add about 3 parts of regular maple syrup for every part of this wood smoked syrup. That cuts the intensity, and the resulting subtle smoky flavor is just right for my taste. It also lasts longer this way!

We don't put this on pancakes. This is a unique smokey taste that we add to dishes when we are cooking to give a sweet, smokey flavor. Luckily a little goes a long way because it is a bit pricey for an average base taste maple syrup and its pretty thin.

I use it with whole grain mustard as a cedar plank steelhead glaze. Fantastic.
