A Great blade by Zero Tolerance
I love this knife but I also realize that this was built as a heavy duty, hard use knife. This knife is fairly heavy and will weigh your pockets down if wearing light material pants. That being said, ZT made this to be an absolute freakin beast and it thrives in this role. The blade is a beautiful stonewashed S35VN steel and mine came sharp. Although I usually use my knives as cutting tools it is good to know that the blade's tip is not dainty and should hold up to some punishment but still do finess work. There is a thumb ramp on the spine at the base of the blade to allow for better control with slicing. I like that the thumb ramp is not too tall, allowing you to move your thumb over it to place on various places along the spine to aid in controlling the blade. This blade opens with a flipper only as there is no thumbstuds. The detent is solid but once broken the blade flies open on the KVT ball bearings. The steel liner lock is thick and locks the blade open firmly with zero blade play. The flipper has some very aggressive jimping and I have to admit it got my finger sore from flicking the knife open the first few days (admittedly this was several hundred times). This jimping should allow for a solid purchase on it which serves well in times of stress, bad environments/weather, or while wearing gloves. The G10 handles are nice and not so aggressive in texturing as to rip up your pants. This coupled with a nice deep carry clip allow the knife to be placed/clipped on your pocket or removed with ease. The G10 is also contoured around the edges to allow for a very ergonomic/comfortable grip. The fit and finish on this knife is amazing and I have come to love Zero Tolerance for their attention to detail and precision engineering. This is simply an amazingly well built and comfortable hard hard use knife that will serve great as an EDC blade if you don't mind the weight.

they do a great job with precision machining and finish
This is my 4th ZT knife, they do a great job with precision machining and finish. They use great materials and I like their designs. There's room for improvement with their locks though. This is now the 3rd ZT knife that has detent or lock problems out of the box, and at this point it's something I just expect from ZT. The detent was so strong on this knife out of the box that it was almost impossible to open the knife with one hand. I realize the detent has to be strong to get the knife to open with that snappy action that most flipper owners want. But this was way out of line. There was nothing wrong with the detent ball or detent hole in the tang, the lock bar pressure was just 10 times higher than it needed to be. I opened it up and bent the lock bar (liner really) a significant amount and put it all back. It's fine now, opening takes a reasonable amount of force, centering is 100%, no play, no lock rock, nothing. All good and I'm happy with the knife. ZT quality control needs to look a little closer at lock function though. Adjusting a brand new knife like this right out of the box is really not that big of a deal to me but I'm probably not a typical customer. I own enough Emersons that I'm happy just to have a knife that costs less than 200 bucks and has a lock that functions at all. But still, ZT should aim a bit higher. After a little adjustment it's a great knife though.

Not a Zero tolerance knife at all
It came in a Zero Tolerance box but when I opened the box there was a Kershaw speed safe $25 knife in it.

Three Stars
Nice F&F, but not the quality I expected. Returned it.

Favorite Knife in my Collection
Awesome knife. I collect knives and own many ZT, Kershaw, Spydercos and Benchmades. This is the favorite knife in my collection and the one most likely to be in my pocket. Not only is the blade almost 4 inches in length, it has a good width too. It feels substantial and solid in your hand. The flipping action is really smooth on ZT's ball bearings system. The only downside is it is probably a little heavy to be and EDC for most people. If you want a flipper that is built like a tank, this is your knife.

Almost perfect knife!!!
The lockup divot was very steep making it hard to open. Reaming the divot hole made it open smooth. This is an excellent knife. Small imperfection otherwise five stars.

The 909 is a BEAR
What a beast of a knife. Fires open like a .44 magnum, awesome grip with the g-10 on both sides. The S35VN steel holds up great. My only gripe is that the knife is a little heavy for EDC. However if I were going for a hike in the woods this is the knife I would take without a doubt.

This is a genuine ZT 0909
Received the ZT 0909 from the seller promptly. It is the genuine article. Very high quality fit , and finish. A most robust, and sharp knife. Wish it was still in production. Hope they bring it back. Thanks
