Looking for a fantastic gun belt? Well you will not be wrong to purchase this one!
If you are like me and find yourself in need of a new gun belt (I mean my last gun belt only lasted me around 20 years) then I am sure you may have had a frustrating time finding a decent gun belt online! But just how do you get past all of the hype (aka bs) that many companies utilize in an attempt to locate a sturdy gun belt that doesn’t give into the weight of your concealed carry?Well, I, myself recently went thru this process and after a lot of trail and error (THANK YOU AMAZON FOR THE FREE RETURN SHIPPING!!), I honestly do not remember the exact number of supposed “gun belts” that is not suitable to carry the weight of a potato gun little alone a good knife and a conceal carry! And finally I found the The Ultimate Steel Core Gun Belt and thought what the heck I have nothing to loose. Now I had purchased and returned both nylon gun belts and also leather “with steel re-enforcement” prior to the gun belt I am reviewing. I really have to wonder if some of these so called gun belts that are “steel re-enforced” are considering aluminum foil as steel re-enforcement, as those I returned did not do the job.Now for The Ultimate Steel Core Gun Belt, I received in the mail quite quickly (prime member) and I wasn’t sure if it would work out. This was only due to the fact that I had so much trouble locating a worth while gun belt that will actually do the job! Thus I started with my S&W M&P performance Center 9mm and nothing else. First impression after trying on the belt is that it fits true to size. Next how the belt felt while wearing it. I waited to write this review until I had been wearing this belt and breaking it in by wearing it for a week and with no issues carrying my M&P, I switched to my normal go to conceal carry a 1911 Kimber 45 acp with red dot, and ported flash suppressor. This is a heavier weapon as it was designed for tactical use. I also added on the extra magazines, flashlight and knife. (I am a retired LEO and have learned better to have than not). I wore this set up for approximately two weeks then came to the decision that my search was over! I found that the craftsmanship of this belt is superb! The sturdiness has not failed a single time! The belt feels slightly stiff but is not uncomfortable to wear. Instead, I found I do not even notice it while wearing it. This also speaks of how well made it is. Any great gun belt will have a slight stiffness as it is actually steel re-enforced, which I found appealing. This is not a belt that you can hope to stretch or “give” as it is exactly what it’s name infers, it is the ultimate steel core gun belt! As I previously stated, this fits true to size, so keep that in mind when you order this and you will not be disappointed!I do not only recommend this gun belt to anyone who is reading this but also to my friends but also to my fellow LEOs whether still on the job or retired. This gun belt makes a great choice of off duty carry! If you are like me, where I have had to depend on my gear in actual life and death situations. Then you also realize the importance of quality when conceal carrying. I have seen in the past where someone inadvertently flashed their conceal carry weapon due to a belt that was either inferior, poorly made or not designed as a gun belt. Fortunately for those individuals they were not arrested but instead educated on the need of a proper belt so that in the future those “little incidents” do not occur again! You would actually be surprised by how many people do not realize the difference between a gun belt and a regular belt. The ultimate gun belt is made of two piece of leather with a steel core in between. Upon inspection and handling it the first time, the weight of the gun belt is a little shocking as it was much heavier than any of the other gun belts I had tested. This “beefy” feel of this gun belt has not changed one bit since I first began wearing it.When it comes to my tools of the trade, I do not skimp on cost as my equipment has to be designed to save lives. That is why I only buy the best when talking about my gear! This is the reason that I have added The Ultimate Gun Belt to that very short list of quality gear. If you are wondering if this is for real, I can only say this..... I have recommended this to my only son as his go to for a gun belt. Failure is NOT an option when it comes to critical EDC equipment and like building a house the most important aspect is it’s foundation. Which I consider two fold, reliable equipment and training training training!

Great belt in every respect!
Great belt in every respect. Previously was using a regular Carhartt 1.5" work belt, which worked pretty well, but this one is clearly superior in many ways. This is my first real "gun belt". I went with the steel core model over the non-steel core as it just makes sense in so many ways. The tensile strength of the core clearly distributes the weight of the pistol over a broader section of the belt, thus providing better support while at the same time better comfort in that the belt need not be quite as tight around the waist. Whereas my previous setup relied on snugness around the waist alone, this one in comparison "sits" on the hips more comfortably, so to speak. My EDC is a H&K USP Compact 9mm, and although being a "compact" it's neither the smallest nor lightest setup out there. Nevertheless with this belt and a DeSantis OWB Speed Scabbard it is very well supported and visibly completely disappears even under just a T-Shirt, let alone a sports jacket. I saw that some reviews stated that the dye runs. Before using the belt I cleaned it with some Harley Davidson Leather Care leather cleaner and a paper towel. I did get a little dye on the towel from the open grain on the belt edge. Just that once. Tried again a week later and the paper towel came back totally clean. Hey folks, you do clean your new pistol in order to remove the manufacturing oils before firing it the first time, right? ;o)Another nice thing about the belt is that the buckle is not stitched in, but rather attached with leather grommets, so that if you want to swap it out with a custom one of your choosing it can easily be done. The one that it comes with is nice enough, but it's nice to have the option to customize it!Update: Just purchased a second one several years after the first. Apparently they shrink over time. What’s that? Neither leather nor steel shrink? OK, I guess I did get a little fatter..;o). All kidding aside, these are great belts that will last a lifetime with no sagging whatsoever. (Unlike my belly…;o)
