Great product and one of the few Realtek chipsets with solid implementation
This works perfectly out of the box. I connected it to a switch that has both 10 GB as well as 2.5 GB and it allows me to connect both to the Internet and local area network. The unit is built like a tank and has cooling fins on the sides, but there are no LEDs to indicate activity on the LAN. Works flawlessly in my Mac M chipset environment.

Super Fast and Reliable Connection!
This UGREEN USB-C to Ethernet adapter works perfectly! It was truly plug-and-play — my laptop recognized it instantly with no drivers needed. The speed is fantastic; I’m getting full 5Gb performance with rock-solid stability. The build quality feels premium, and the compact design makes it easy to carry in my laptop bag. It’s a great upgrade for anyone who needs a fast, wired internet connection on a USB-C device. Highly recommend this adapter for both home and office use!

works exactly as advertised
works great and a must for Ugreen NAS. Other reviewers complaining that they do not see an increase in transfer speed have to realize that unless their disks are so fast that the transfer speed is being limited by the internal network interface, they will not see an increase. Plus their cables must be rated for high speed, cat 6 or 8, and the computer they are attaching to, and any switches or routers in the route, must also handle 5 Gbps. You do kind of have to know what you are doing here.

No better
I am a pretty big fan of Ugreen (I own their 8 bay nas) but this was a big disappointment. I was using something similar to bring ethernet network (and internet) to a laptop which did not have a RJ45 port. My speeds were poor enough that I decided to replace that with this. I saw no increase is speeds (despite this being usb C and the addition of 5gb up/down internet) and my Mac book (M2) didn't even acknowledge it. It works. I see the lights flashing but offers no performance increase.

Great option in a limited market. Cheap and functional but quirky.
Mostly works great once you load the drivers (make sure you download them from Ugreen). Otherwise you might not get full link speed. I also find that it doesn't always work on boot but if I disconnect it and reconnect it, everything is fine. It probably has a power saving bug or something but it is a minor issue in my use case.

Solid 5Gbps adapter
I have been using this for two months with MacBook Air (M1) connected to a Unifi USW Flex XG 10Gbps switch. I'm running over a mix of Cat 6 and Cat 5e that is buried in my walls. Performance is as expected, 4.5 to 4.7 Gbps to a VM on Proxmox (iPerf3). Solid construction but larger than your typical USB / Ethernet adapter probably to accommodate thermal design as it does run warm. Only down side is no indicator lights which makes a very clean "Apple-like" design, but I miss the reassurance that status lights provide.
