Elegant and functional
I love this my USB-C (or thunderbolt 3) adapter. I use this for my Apple laptop and unlike other adapters that attaches to the laptop like a part of the machine, I like how this one is attached by a short cable, which can be tug out of sight. I do have to purchase a USB-C to audio pigtail for my headphone since the headphone is not Bluetooth capable, but even that doesn’t diminish how I feel about this device - I really like it.

Just what I wanted!
Finally an adapter that fits my compact multiple demands for the HP Elite notebook. Love them for being super light and thin but carrying their bulky expensive adapters is a setback I never wanted. Here I can power and plug all sockets in thru the same USB-C port while others are either/ OR. You also still go places they don’t have HDMI for beamers and your std parallel port will be missed - not anymore! Plus the fast USBs and the quality aluminum built with power light makes this a cool gadget to carry around!

Works great, but gets very warm
Update - I am so disappointed because it just stopped working after 2 months. Plus this was not cheap. Don’t buy this product!I liked this USB C hub because it just worked out of the box with my MacBook Pro 2017. It has all of the ports needed at the office and when I travel. My only concern is that it gets really hot when I have many of the ports plugged in. Normally I have an HDMI, USB C (power), network, and USB to transfer data. I give it 4 stars for just working out of the box. I did not give it a 5 because it gets hot.

Great for travel
I bought this to use with a Microsoft Surface Go tablet. Its great for adding regular USB ports, an external display, and ethernet port. The form factor is nice and stores easily, and it never gets too hot.The only things are:You can use HDMI -OR- VGA, but not both simultaneously. If you connect both, only HDMI will be detected. The cord is a bit short. There are short extension cables you can get so its not putting weight on the USB port on a Surface Go device. It would need about 3" additional length to lay flat when using the Go as a laptop. As others have noted, removing one of the USB ports and replacing with an sd/TF card reader would be a bit more desirable.Overall, I find this useful and quite handy, and it looks cool as well. I reccomend it for those with a Surface Go as long as you are aware - only one external monitor, and get a USB-C extension cord.

PSA: Important information to know before using!
TLDR: You MUST shut off power to the hub or disconnect the ethernet cable prior to disconnecting shutting down or disconnecting the hub from the computer to prevent the hub from disrupting network connections.I purchased this hub as a replacement for a DodoCool hub that was exhibiting severe network connectivity problems. I immediately experienced some network problems using this hub as well. I then received reports that a whole section of the office would experience network breaking every time I would leave. After some investigation, I determined that disconnecting the hub from my laptop caused the USB-C power passthrough to cause network storms that overloaded the connected network switch. You MUST shut off power to the hub or disconnect the ethernet cable prior to disconnecting my PC to prevent the hub from disrupting the network.Although my hub came branded as UPVICH, it is an attractive and compact package that provides a lot of functionality for a reasonable price. The USB ports are all upside down for some reason, which makes for frustrating inserting USB devices. I wish that the USB-C connection cable was longer as I have my laptop up on a stand and have to put the hub up on an object to reach the computer's port. I wish they had engineered the power-passthrough better to prevent the above mentioned network problems but it seems that this is not uncommon for USB-C hubs in this lower price ranges.

Great first impression
I ordered this Hcman hub but received an UPVICH branded version (https://smile.amazon.com/UPVICH-Adapter-Gigabit-Ethernet-Compatible/dp/B07FGF2S3W/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8). They look to be identical.I bought this to use when traveling for work with my 2017 MacBook Pro. I often need HDMI and VGA to connect to projectors and occasionally need to connect to ethernet. This hub supports all 3.I just received this and tested to make sure all of the ports work, which they do. The first time I connected VGA to my monitor it did not give me an option for 1080p. I had the hub already connected to the Mac and then connected VGA. The second time, I had the VGA already connected to the hub and THEN connected the hub to the Mac. This time it did give me 1080p on VGA.The speeds on the USB drive seem to be good. I've tested against my Sabrent hub (which is for home use) and some simple USB-C to USB-A adapters and the speeds are equivalent with this one. Also, the USB ports work with the Logitech Unifying receiver for keyboards and mice. I tried the CharJenPro hub (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0746381W6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) at one point and that one did NOT support the Unifying receiver. Also, I loaded this up by connecting an 87w charger (to pass through to the Mac), HDMI, ethernet and 1 USB device and measured the temperature. I was running at about 99 degrees. The Sabrent runs around 91 degrees.Note that 2 of the reviews on the UPVICH version mention the display ports failing after some use. I'll update this review if that happens to me. In the mean time, I may get a Squaretrade warranty because of those reports.
