Essential for applying support stockings.
Received next day for my wife who was prescribed support stockings but no applicator. This is an essential piece of equipment required to apply medical grade support stockings without incurring injury even for a strong and fit person. If you've had surgery or are frail it is likely to cause serious problems and further injury even with assistance. The use of this appliance means you can step into the pre-streached foot and pull up the leg easily. The use of rubber kitchen gloves is great for smoothing out any wrinkles or misalignment.

Won't take you long to get used to it, and it sure helps
I recently got serious about wearing my compression stockings. I decided to crack the problem of getting the things on. I found this device, and for the price, it was worth the experiment, so I ordered it, and I am glad I did. It doesn't take much time to familiarise yourself with using it, and it can make the job less daunting and less tedious. One trick I learned was not to concertina the stocking onto the frame, just stop pushing it on before it starts to concertina. It works better that way. You will soon get the hang of it. The frame doesn't fold up, but it is probably small enough that you could shove it in a travel bag if necessary.

Helpful kit
Once I had worked out how to best use it, it is now valuable addition to dressing in the morning and putting on compression stockings.

Simple and easy to use
Great aid to support elderly to put on support stockings with ease. No more ripping of stockings, difficulty stretching to pull up their legs! Simple and easy to use. I wouldn't do without.

Indispensable
I've been using this now for quite a few months, and I have to say it makes putting on my 'below knee' compression stockings so much easier. Initially, I struggled a little (the instructions were a little vague), but now, after a lot of practice, it's a piece of cake. A cheap pair of rubberized gloves makes the whole process a lot easier. It's a brilliant idea and I wouldn't be without it now.

Good if you can lift your leg and foot high enough
This is a well made piece of equipment which does what it claims to do. However, you need to be able to lift your leg up as high as the frame in order to put your foot into the sock. It’s roughly 20cm which isn’t much but if, like my husband, you have mobility difficulties it’s impossible. I bought it as I need something to help get his socks on without causing pain in my arthritic hands. So now I just use it as a sock stretcher which does give some relief.

Does what it says on the tin!
I have just got to the stage where due to limited hip movement I strugle to put on socks. I didn't want something that looked like it belonged in a hospital and it had be discrete but practical. This looks great and would not look out of place in a modern bedroom. As far as ease of use is concerned if you follow the four instrucitonal pictures you will have no issues. although frankly you should find your feet just move in the right direction without trying. Works with everything from trainer socks to knee high dress socks. My only problem is, that it is so easy I am tempted to use it even on the good days when I can manage without! EXCELLENT!

Only for the fit and strong.
This works well for a carer trying to put on a patient’s stocking, or for a strong flexible person, I could stretch the stocking over, bend down and put it on myself with easy. It’s well made and strong. But for my mum, who’s nearly eighty and needs to put on her own stockings independently , it didn’t work. Despite having the flexibility of a gymnast, she has not the strength to stretch the stocking over the device. She’s back to pulling them on laboriously each morning. The quest for a helpful tool goes on. Item returned.

Mit etwas Übung ist es eine sehr gute Hilfe zum anziehen der Kompressionsstrümpfe. Man braucht etwas bis es funktioniert aber damn ist es eine große Erleichterung zum anziehen.

I did not see this being helpful at all. In fact, I could not get it to work at all. Waste of money. I have to return it.
