EGO Power+ 8" Lawn Edger Attachment & Multi-Head System Power Head - ME0820

I've only used a gas weed eater that uses those goofy plastic fingers. It finally gave up the ghost last fall, and we just moved into a poorly maintained 6 acre property, so I ordered this with a pole saw attachment as well. I was pretty happy with it immediately. String cuts well, feeds easy, good power. Then I remembered the two speed option. High speed zips through grass and weeds like a monster. Then I finally ran out of string that it came with, and finally got to try out the well-regarded Max Power Twisted line. HOLY MOLY this thing is a monster. EGO should start selling these with that Twisted line, because I'm telling you that brought an already good product up to another level. It really cuts great, throws trimmings away well, and the 5.0 battery lasts longer than I can stand to run it, which is just how it should be. I'm very happy with it so far.

Met all my expectations. Made the lawn work quick and easy. Along with some of the other extension tools it’s a great buy.

So far works well. Plenty of power and no gas to buy. Unlike gas edger no ear protection required. The carbon makes the unit very light compared to the gas model I have. EGO is more expensive than some other brands but I’ve been using them for over 2 years with no issues.

I grabbed this after seeing a mom on Instagram edge her own yard and i thought, okay, maybe i can stop begging my husband every weekend. The edger itself cuts a clean line along our front walk, and it handled the overgrown grass by the driveway better than our old corded thing. The part i didn’t love is the weight once you attach it to the power head. After about 15 minutes my arms were shaking and i had to switch sides a lot. One nice thing though, i just twist the handle to adjust the angle so i’m not wrecking my back around the flower beds while the kids chalk on the sidewalk.

I mainly got this for the edging capability since I already have a weedeater. I got the edger attachment along with this and have used it to do the edging on my yard. I have a lot of edging to do since I live in a house on the corner. I have been edging with my weedeater for a few years and finally decided that I had enough of that. When this thing arrived, I charged it up and edged the yard. I was impressed by how much easier it was to edge with this thing and the fact that it is battery powered is another plus. I don't know when I will get any of the attachments for this; but, I like that I have that option. Anyway, I don't want to write a book here, so I Will end it here.

Was running my landscaping budget tight, so I grabbed this for the strip of grass in front of my shop and my own driveway. I’ve been turning a string trimmer sideways for years, so having a real edger is nicer and the line along the sidewalk does look cleaner. I like that it shares batteries with my other Ego tools. I edged, trimmed the front, then blew the walkway and still showed half a battery. That part saves me time during Saturday rush. What I don’t love is the front-heavy feel. After about 20 minutes my wrist gets tired and I have to switch hands or take a break.

Adding this edger to my Ego collection has been a great move. Since I already have several batteries from other tools, I opted for the tool only version. One of the best things about this ecosystem is that any of the batteries work with any tool, which saved me some money here. I use this with the multi head system, and it is very easy to swap it out for my hedge trimmer or pole saw. Performance: I am a novice at lawn maintenance, but this tool made quick work of edges that hadn't been touched in over six months. It's powerful enough to rip through lots of excess grass and is quite sensitive to the throttle with how strong it spins. Because I had skipped an entire season of edging, the first pass was quite laborious and a bit of a workout. It does get heavy over time and will tax your body more than pushing a lawn mower would, but it is definitely doable. The second time I used it was much easier and faster without all that excess grass in the way. Functionality: the edger seems to only work in one direction with the blade on the right side. I didn't see a way to switch it to the left, so I just walk it down the line and then back up. It leaves the lawn looking very clean and crisp. It has already paid for itself now that I don't have to pay contractors to do it for me. I also like the edger blade is metal and doesn't have to be replaced by a line feed.

Not much I can really say here, the units work flawlessly, although I do wish it did not weight as much as it did though, they are quite heavy with the battery installed. You need to use the shoulder straps they come with or at least mine did. Overall I would say 5 stars for functionality and ability to switch out the heads. but I would give it 4 stars for weight and comfort. Overall 4 star

Another amazing product from Ego. So much power! It does an incredible job.

Be aware that this new model have a much smaller guard. Used it two times and got scrap all over my pants, shirt and even on my face. EGO will need to address this ASAP.
