Almost enough
The book covers the topics very well. I just wish some of the examples were "real life" instead of strange made up examples. Some of them don't work at all and I had to talk to my instructor to clarify what was being said.

Great for understanding the thought process not for learning code.
This book is pretty good at teaching you sudo code and give you an understandings of the basics of programming though process.

We were able to save money by renting!

Helpful
Easy to follow instructions, for someone who has never done coding, and examples were helpful too. I will hang on to this as a reference tool!

Better than lugging the book around
do not have to turn pages can just put page number in and reference quickly, would recommend it to others.

It's not even enough for kindling.
I'm in a programming fundamentals class and my professor is trying to teach with this ineffective waste of paper and/or bytes. Fortunately, he hasn't made us purchase the book but he's trying to teach programming concepts without actually teaching us programming. That's like trying to teach grammar without teaching vocabulary(if someone else has a better analogy, I want to hear it). Programming is an abstract set of concepts but this book attempts to teach it by nesting all of those abstract concepts in another layer of abstraction(more layers of abstraction is bad for learning(humans are not computers)). The practical way to learn a hands on skill is to learn hands on!If you've been forced to buy this book, please talk to your CS or IT Dean because I guarantee they don't know how bad this book is. There needs to be a standard for educational tools in our field.
