ASICS Men's NOVABLAST 5 Running Shoes

I’ve owned several ASICS shoes over the years and I had felt the Kayano line was their best until I decided to try the Novablast 5 series. These are an absolute game changer for me. The cushioning and arch support is absolutely amazing; when I’m running it literally feels like I’m running on clouds and clouds of cotton. The way the cushioning helps when I strike down to the ground is amazing and the shoes are super light and do not feel bulky whatsoever. My only quibbles (if at all): 1. I’m not a fan of how ASICS is designing the tongue of their shoes (in addition to these I also purchased a pair of their Pulse 17 shoes and the tongue was the same); the rest of the shoe is such amazing quality and feel that the tongue has a flimsiness feel to it. I assume it’s to help make the shoes more lightweight (which it does), but it’s so thin and for me it just seems like they’re skimping here. That being said, I don’t think it’s a huge cause for concern and the overall comfort and fit of the shoes makes it easy to disregard this issue. (2) Personally I think the look of the shoes are not as well designed as the Kayano or Cumulus lines, but the cushioning, their flexibility, and overall comfort far outweighs this for me, and for that I am totally fine with the look of these. In spite of these quibbles it’s easy to overlook them and say these may be the best pair of ASICS shoes I’ve ever owned.

I am comfortable writing a review now after running a 1/2 marathon in my novablasts 5! I have used many brands and have had to change due to design changes and other reasons over the years which led me to try the novablasts 5 after a month of research. So these fit my foot really well. The toe box is nice and wide which I need for my foot especially running longer distances. This shoe is a balance between having cushion and running at a decent rate. I have a high arch so my foot that needs some protection but for me too much is just as bad. I do wear custom inserts and they work really well with this shoe so keep that in minds Also weight wise it is very light. So will this shoe hold up and this is an interesting subject. The sole of the shoe isn’t all rubber there is foam and that is to keep the weight down but all your typical strike points are protected. The areas that doesn’t have rubber are foam so i worry rocks can damage the foam parts, but so far so good. That being said running shoes are not meant to last forever and I look to get a year out of a pair and i believe these will make it. I love running in them but only time will tell for the sole.

These shoes are unbelievably good for my runs! I’ve been using ASICS Kayanos for the past seven years, so I was hesitant to switch to something new. A few weeks ago, I decided to test the Novablast on a training run, and I was amazed by how my legs felt after the session. I was so impressed that I decided to purchase a pair. Since making the switch, my average pace has improved by nearly two minutes per mile, and my legs don’t feel nearly as worn out or sore after my runs. The Novablasts are incredibly light, bouncy, and responsive, making my runs feel more enjoyable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable, lightweight, and energetic running shoe

I haven't ever really treated myself to a nicer pair of running shoes, these were a great buy for the price. Feels like I'm walking/running on clouds. They look great and seem to be well made, they fit great as well. They flex really well while running and keep my feet locked in a good form.

I've been a 57 year old male limited to 16-17 miles per week with my Cliftons. Any more miles than that, I'd get some sort of minor injury and have to rest a week or two. I love the Cliftons and they are comfortable and they worked for my training to get my 5K times to 21-22 minutes. So after 5-6 years of this back and forth, I needed a change to a more "plush" ride. I've tried various max cushion shoes and they all didn't offer the support I enjoyed with the Cliftons, until now! The Novablast are not only plush on the pavement, they give me the neutral support I need. With JUST 3 weeks of use, I've bumped my mileage to 24-25!! WITH ZERO PAIN or injuries. I've done two 9 mile runs (slow, easy long runs) with zero pain/issues. I've done fast finish (threshold) runs with zero issues. And today? 6 800 meter 6:15/m intervals with zero issue. Yeah, these chug along at that pace, but they work. I tried the Mach 6 for two interval sessions and yeah, they're light and more nimble, but my ankles and Achilles do not like 'em (I returned them). I won't race in these (I'll stick to my Endorphin Pros), but I'm tickled that I can actually do intervals in these and enjoy them!!

Hubby super excited to have them. On feet daily long hrs and these are extremely supportive and comfortable. Recommended by husband

They are comfortable, good quality, light weight and look nice. Good for decent runs i dont do more then a 5 k but have lasted about 3 months no issues. Also great for walking too

I’ve been really impressed with the ASICS NOVABLAST 5. I regularly run 5Ks, and since I started using these shoes, I no longer experience the knee and calf discomfort that I used to feel while running. The cushioning feels excellent, and they provide a very comfortable and supportive ride without feeling heavy. They also have a nice amount of bounce, which makes my runs feel smoother and more enjoyable. For me, the difference has been noticeable, especially on longer runs. I’m extremely happy with them and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable running shoe.

Great pair of trainers. The comfort from these on my first run was brilliant. I am a mid foot striker, unless I am absolutely done then I revert to heel striking. It was pretty good for both. I am also on the heavier side for a runner being 90kg but that did not affect the stability or the cushion.

No wonder these shoes won best overall running shoe 2025 from runrepeat.com. These have been amazing so much so I bought a second pair. I am running 10km to half marathon on them and they are great, very light and comfortable, letting me focus on running and not any issues with my feet. I would recommend them to anyone.
