Clear Comms & Versatile.
Bought these for use on a 5 acre lit with few obstructions. They come pre-charged but we charged them overnight. There is some assembly required to out the belt clip on but it's pretty simple. Comes with a small lanyard and an earpiece. When it powers on it has a verbal "power on" and then tells you what channel it's on. When you switch the channels the voice kicks in to let you know which one you went to. Nice touch since with as many channels as it has it could be difficult to make sure you're on the right one without it. The channel switch knob stays put but the potential is there for it to loosen up over time and could drift by accident. As with any radio, you'll need to hold the button down and give a moment before speaking and continue to hold for a moment after. The push to talk button is OK, but probably the weak point for extended use. It's a soft rubber covered button, and over time I can see this rubber wearing out. I'd like to see a hard plastic button here for longevity. As far as audio, it's Loud and Clear! It has an LED light, but it's not very bright. Could probably use it to read a little text at light or see where a key is going. It strobes as well. Nice add, but not likely to get used a lot. We've found that more often than not it gets turned on by accident which is a potential battery drain. For an inexpensive radio, I'd say this is a 5 star purchase. If you're needing something for a job site you can't go wrong. Having dealt with the 200 buck radios from the big M brand, it's not worth paying more. Those units are more durable, but not enough to make me pay $150 more per unit for. Really the only thing going for those is the encrypted network, but most job sites probably don't have a use for the extra security and pain of programming whenever you need a replacement. Those of us having dealt with radios know that durability doesn't really matter much because they'll get destroyed (or lost) as quickly as this inexpensive one. Can't speak to how they'll handle wet weather long-term yet. Here in FL it's something we deal with frequently, but as long as you're keeping it somewhat protected I think it'll be OK.I like the individual chargers so everyone can have one in their desk, but it would be great to have a multi-unit charging station, too. After my first initial purchase of a 4-pack to test, I picked up an additional 2-pack. The 4 units is a great value, so you can't go wrong there. Always get a couple extra radios. They get misplaced or lost all the time, and you'll need to swap to recharge. As long as these are available, they'll be my go-to as needed.

Are working well
We have been using these for a month now. 4 employees and we are hearing each other well. I was concerned on how inexpensive they are compared to the ones we had in the retail store. I gave them a try and I am not disappointed. Battery lasts all day. I would recommend them to anyone with a small business.

Extra walkie talkie
Still using on a daily basis. Current job had some of the same equipment. I just wanted a personal headset. Works well with the others.

Not bad for the price.
I ordered these for my small landscaping business and they seem to work very well they come in pretty clear and the ear pieces work great.

Very solid
I got these for family and friends in my town for emergencies. They live between a mile and 4 miles. They reach just a bit under a mile.We have to go outside or upstairs but I think it’s good quality for the money. I also bought a pack of them for work on a job where there’s multiple different trades working they were great. Everyone has their own channel and you can get them hold of everybody quickly.

Can’t use ctcss tone without software and cable at additional cost
I was surprised to find out that it is not possible to use privacy tones (ctcss) with these radios without acquiring a programming cable (for additional cost) and programming software. The vast majority of FRS-type radios have this feature available directly from the keypad. The description is not clear that privacy tones require additional equipment. Even the manual that comes with them have “CTCSS” on the cover in big letters. But the manual has no information on how to use it, and I had to do an online search to discover that you can’t, at least not without a cable and software.Otherwise the radios seemed solid, with good volume. But I returned them because I want to use privacy tones. Most other users will too.

The distance was excellent
As a photographer, it would have been impossible for my team to navigate the huge wedding venue we were at without them.

Range of walkies
Disappointed in range of walkies. Description stated up to 3 miles. They didn't work, we had to be close to each. We were on vacation. It was 30 family members. On the same floor of the hotels in different rooms, still worked poorly. I really need to return to back to Amazon. We only used 6 out of 10. No one else wanted them at that point. I would like to get a credit or send the 4 walkies back I didn't used.
