I purchased this pole saw because I already own/run DeWalt 20v cordless tools and needed a saw like this to do maintenance around my small ranch. This pole saw works great for keeping limbs clear on trails and pruning limbs on trees near the fields where I run the tractor. It has a manual oiler, and I suggest getting some cheap 3-in-one oil (light machine oil) to keep the reservoir filled. My only complaint is that the saw can get clogged with saw dust at times, but the tool less blade cover allows you to remove/clean the blade area. The blade can be sharpened and/or replaced as necessary. The unit is robust, and depending on the batteries you use, you can cut quite a lot with a single battery. It has the power to cut through larger limbs relatively easily, and at full extension provides quite a bit of reach. This definitely beats manual pole-saws for larger jobs (like trail maintenance). If I could find one with a slightly longer blade (12 inches), I would buy that, but it isn't a show stopper. I would buy it again.

This works great, is easy to use, and light enough for almost anyone. While this is not commercial quality or anything, for those of us who just need to trim some branches from time to time it is a great little tool to have!

Great little saw! Definitely recommend this for anyone doing some branch clearing or general pruning of trees. I bought it to cut some branches out of my trees to get more light on the patio. I needed something that was light weight for when I climbed the tree. This fit the bill exactly. My wife even loved using it to cut up the branches before throwing in the fire. It's powerful enough to cut through the 4in-5in branches without a problem. I read multiple reviews that said chain dulls quickly but that wasn't my experience. Now I'll sharpen a chain after each use to make life easier but this chain lasted the whole job. The only downside I've found so far is the chain loosens quicker than I expected. The tab on the nut cover (see picture) makes tightening it back up easy without additional tools. Great work around for that problem but slight inconvenience. I was leery about how long the battery would last but I only went through one battery for the whole job and it's still not dead. Great addition for the yard work tool options. I definitely recommend.

I was doubtful that this would actually work. It actually works great! And I am used to using gas chainsaws and own timber property. I used it to cut some smaller trees down, and some overhanging limbs at my house. While this comes with a charger, I took a change and put it in my DeWalt battery charger and the battery charged right up. I also used a DeWalt battery in it, and it worked. The chain arrives very sharp. I honestly feel like I have already gotten my money worth since I did not have to climb up on a steep roof to get overhanging (oak) limbs. I would buy this again. I did get it on sale; definitely worth what I paid.

I wasn't sure what to expect with a DeWalt "compatible" product, but so far it is doing well. I can tell the plastic isn't up to the same quality as an authentic DeWalt product, but then again I'm not planning on subjecting it to the torture normally associated with DeWalt tools on job sites. So, I think the quality of this will be just fine for me, my garage, and my back yard. I had 2x 4" Birch trees that needed to be cut down, and this saw did great. Attached the pole arm to reach several dead tree branches and get them cut off. I was able to do all my yard work on a single 4ah battery, so that's pretty cool. The pole arm extension works really well. Though it did take some time to adjust the tension knobs just right for the pole to stay in place the way I wanted. When it gets bound up, it just stops and you have to release the trigger and start again. That's a fine safety feature for me. Though it can be a little frustrating when it's on the pole arm and you're trying to get it unbound and it's out of reach.

I got ONE weak use out of this polesaw,,, ONE. I used the oil, sprayed my blade and chain with WD40 and stored it under my large screen patio with my other tools. This pole saw completely locked up and is no good after ONE use. I am so angry. Also, it barely wants to cut palm fronds even when carefully angled. JUNK. My guess is that the chain and internal mechanism is so cheap that it corroded even though it was stored properly.

I really like this trimmer. It’s very handy and a great value. I bought it with one specific job in mind and was so much less expensive than hiring it done and best of all I have it for future tasks.

Does the job like name brands. The fact that it comes with dewalt compatible batteries is a huge advantage. The only complain is the chain gets loose after one or two uses.
