Excellent in almost every way
I, too, came from an Escort 8500 that had so many false alarms that I even recently got a minor ticket because I guess I just learned to always ignore the stupid thing unless I was on the highway in the country. Anyway, here is my take:Pros:-great false/BSM filtering and allows you adjust the sensitivity of said false alarms; basically you can tell it to only be 40% sensitive to K band so that most electronic doors are ignored. A lot of people might ignore this sensitivity feature, but living in a huge city this is actually really nice. This all translates into a quiet unit that rarely sends false alarms.-smart dark mode does exactly what it says and keeps the unit display black until an alarm occurs; this is actually a great feature if you listen to music loudly because as soon as the display comes on, it catches your eye without needing to hear it, that being said:-it's one of the louder units i've tried on the market-solid mounting bracket/suction cups; my Passport would clank against my windshield-beautiful OLED displayCons:-this is bad engineering to me, but the power plug goes on the DRIVER'S side of the unit; this is super annoying because it just adds more clutter in your line of sight to the road. most units are on the passenger side, and especially if you mount this near your rearview mirror, you can easily hide the cable to the right side behind the mirror. this is a design mistake IMO, but not a deal breaker.-while it is user friendly in that there is probably a setting for anything you want, it's not super easy to learn--there are no instructions in the box, so you have to go to their website. But their website's instructions are somewhat vague, and after I updated firmware the menu selections weren't even ordered the same as their manual says. You just have to spend a little time with it to understand every setting.-i still don't really understand why you have the possibility to select a "user point" so luckily in expert mode you can turn that off; i list this as a con because the first few days when i'd try to increase the volume i'd actually set a user point, which turned into many pointless user points during my drive to work. this would make me hear "user point detected" every time i got in range, which was really, really annoying considering i had inadvertently set about 15 user points in a 5 mile radius lol. like i said, once i figured out how, i was able to erase my user points and turn that feature off entirely. i guess maybe you would normally use those if there was a speed trap along your route, or maybe even something non-radar related like maybe there was a really cool restaurant you went to on a very rare drive, and that alert might jog your memory if you ever make the same trip again? anyway...not something i'll ever use, but it's there.anyway, i'm totally satisfied with my purchase from a standpoint of features. it seems to pick up cops just fine, but time will only tell if it is as good as it seems. so far, no complaints.

Very Quiet Radar Detector Great BSM Filtering
I upgraded from Escort 8500 X50 due to many false alerts from blind spots monitoring systems from newer vehicles such as Acura, Honda, and GM. I initially bought an Escort IX and returned it the following day after watching Vortex Radar YouTube videos. I decided on this unit for BSM filtering. I haven’t seen this Radenso XP kick off to anything other than normal places such as grocery stores with automatic door system. With the manual GPS lockout feature you won’t have to be annoyed by the radar detector. The huge selling point of this Radenso product was the GPS lockout for grocery stores and blind spot monitoring filtering. Unfortunately, the XP doesn’t have an autolearn feature for GPS lockouts, the user must manually set them which isn’t a real big deal, escort has a patent currently on that feature. Radenso recommends to keep the radar detector in the AutoCity mode that helps mute a lot of unwanted signals, it does NOT mute Ka band and Laser alerts in that mode after reading the user manual PDF, I was concerned how quiet this unit really is. The unit comes with two cables one for power out of a normal cigarette lighter that cable also features a mute button. The other cable is for updating software via USB from a desktop. I really can't speak on the suction power because I have mine attached to a mirror mount. Radenso offers free lifetime software updates and is fairly easy to do. Compared to escort that charges you a hefty fee to send in your unit to get upgraded firmware. I don’t think I will be buying an escort product anytime soon because of the competitiveness of this product and brand in the price range.
