Smith & Wesson SW995 8.5in High Carbon S.S. Full Tang Karambit Knife with a 3.75in Clip Point Blade and Nylon Handle for Outdoor, Tactical, Survival and EDC

Correct terminology: Reverse Kerambit. Perfect ergonomics. Beyond perfect. A masterpiece of design in every regard. Someone deserves recognition for this. Well made. Surprisingly good steel at this price. Esthetically beautiful. The bad part, the sheath. It takes two people to pull this knife out of the sheath. I see no way of fixing this sheath as designed. A deal breaker. I returned it. However, the knife itself serves so well in the self defense role. Index finger through the loop, point down and edge forward, the defender needs no skill nor training: intuition and the design of the knife will carry the day. I may purchase this knife again. If I do, I will use a hack saw to remove the retention portion of the sheath, and I will put an UltiClip Slim 3.3 belt clip on it (available on Amazon). The knife will have NO retention, but it will carry high and concealed, and draw like lightning. I might do that. If you want to try that too, you will not find a better self defense knife at any price on the internet.

What an awesome looking knife in a very durable sheath. Feels great in my hand. Regardless of what others say, it is VERY EASY to remove from sheath if you do it the correct way (see video). No modifications or “stretching” the sheath was needed like others had said. It comes out ridiculously, if you do it correctly. I also like the fact it comes with a belt clip. The chain I don’t care about. I don’t wear it on my neck. Other than that, I think it’s now my favorite Chinese smith and Wessen knife and it didn’t cost an arm and a leg like a Benchmade (yes, they’re great but to me just way over priced for what you get and I can ruin them just as fast as a cheap Kershaw, Gerber, or this one).

I like this knife overall, i like the little weight it has and the sharp and pointy blade, you can put your finger in the hole and nobody it’s gonna be able to take it off you. The case itself is bad, very hard to take it off and you have to use both hands to take it out, you can take off the other part to kinda loosen up but it’s hard anyways, i have to say its kinda uncomfortable to grab and it doesn’t have to much grip, i will probably put black tape around it because i have very sweaty hand but I recommend it

Nice quality and size. I use it as a boot knife and it's a great fit. The grip lets my draw it well and the holster stays put. Can't beat the price for an EDC boot knife.

This knife is fantastic! Between the shape of the blade and the edge profile this thing is razor sharp out of the box. I used it to process a 15 lb brisket (which it's obviously not designed for) and it did the job super well! The grip is comfortable and it handles well in the forward and reverse grip. My only issue with this is the sheath. Absolutely terrible. It uses some sort of pressure retention to keep the knife in and it uses the eyelets to do so which by its self makes the blade difficult to draw and if you try to mount an ulti clip to it, it's almost impossible. I even tried filing down the section by the edge that seems to be responsible, with some little success. Good thing I'm a leather worker and can make my own sheath.

I'm not a fan of "neck knives" in general, and would never consider having this knife hang from my neck. I had a very specific use in mind when I ordered this knife: Handgun retention. For that, it does not disappoint. The included scabbard works very well on my non-dominant (left) side when attached to my belt, with its bottom portion tucked into the front pocket of my jeans. I don't keep the knife tightly locked-in, so it can be drawn very quickly with my left hand, index finger through the hole, should the need arise in a tussle for my pistol. The only modification I intend to make is to sharpen the back side of the blade for about an inch near its point, to make it more efficient in stabbing. The only other tool I like for handgun retention is a push dagger with a three-inch blade, using it in my left hand for boxing jabs. However, I prefer this knife, with its karambit-style retention hole at the pommel end, and the capability to slash more effectively, in addition to stabbing. Overall, I would consider this a very good force-multiplying tool for left-handed deployment, and an excellent value for the money. The only con: Right-handed deployment when belt-worn felt really cumbersome, with the way the scabbard was set up from the factory. I didn't fiddle with changing the orientation of the belt loop, since my intention is to use it left-handed.

Ok So once you sharpen or have this blade professionaly sharpened it can get literally razor sharp. BUT The sheath is extra terrible It's hard to get out of the sheath unless you press the sheath with your thumb at the same time you draw ir Also and the biggest annoyance is the average person would never be able to remove the screws to move or remove the belt belt!!!! I broke 1 screw loose and the other I still haven't been able to remove yet It's literally going to take putting this in a small vice grip to remove this other screw which is ridiculous and honestly pisses me off! Buy accordingly

You defiantly get a very good quality knife for the money, I’ve been wearing for 2 days as a neck knife and it’s a bit big but not noticeable with a hoodie on. I would assume it would be great for self defence because of the hidden carry design and blade shape. I would say that for some people it would be hard to get out of the sheath for how tightly it was molded but it will likely wear over time. I don’t see this knife coming out of the sheath any time soon if that’s what your worried about. Great knife decent edc carry.

I did unthinkable things to the tip of this for lack of better tools on hand and it hasn't snapped off or bent. It holds a good edge as well. I would say S&W did a hell of a heat treatment. I've reprofiled more expensive knives after much less abuse. I can't recommend this enough. I like it so much i bought a second for when i find the end of this ones durability.

Knife is ok for the price and with nice design, shape and look is great, but sheath isn’t easy to use, belt clip is useless, not comfortable and needs modifications. But like I said - price matching the expectations.

Absolutely love it.

It doesn't bend. Strong construction. There is a warning label it produces cancer, may be the black paint that cover the metal... That make it mot good to cut food I believe. It get out of the scabbard no problem at it fit very secure on it. I like reverse carambit better than carambit it is more easy to work with it for camping and field survival.
