Sunstar GUM Original Orthodontic Wax

I had a partial denture fitted on my lower teeth and upon arriving home I realised there was a sharp piece rubbing against my tongue at the back. I researched products that could help until my next dental appointment and came across this wax. It has been absolutely brilliant at protecting my tongue. I break off a piece, roll it then push it hard against the denture. It sticks when pushed hard enough and I’m back to talking non-stop without fear of shredding my tongue.

It helped stop further irritation from my clear aligner tray that didn’t quite fit at the back of the teeth.

Following these suggestions: Yes, it's easy to use. This is the first one I've tried, and so far, the quality is good. I love the smell and mint taste. It's super comfortable, exactly what I need for my aligners. The edge was cutting my tongue, which was painful and uncomfortable, and this wax solved the problem. It lasts a few days, sticking to the plastic for 4 to 5 days. Then, when it falls off, I add another one.

I bought this as I have a temporary tooth plate (my front tooth of course) and when I talk my lip catches on the tooth. Then it gets stuck. So I try to casually get the lip off the tooth by rubbing my nose while simultaneously trying to use my thumb to lift my lip clear. Alternatively I wriggle my nose from side to side (like the tv witch whose name I can’t remember) to loosen it off. If I was a fluffy bunny it would be cute. I’m not. It’s not. Plus neither options works. Once I melt and stick the wax over the top of the tooth, problem solved. No more rubbing and sticking. Plus it’s clear so no one sees it.

Had a sharp tooth which was splitting my tongue covered my tooth with this it's amazing stopped my pain immediately would definitely recommend

Bought the mint version to test it out - feels about twice as soft as the regular one and the mint part feels trivial at most. Will keep buying the regular but would recommend skipping this one really.

Product doesn't seem right as I have just woken choking on a piece of this wax. Bought it after getting sores on my tongue from fixed retainer fitted to teeth. Followed instructions, rolled wax to warm and applied to dry area of retainer. Very hard, dry and isnt really soft enough to mould . Bits break off easily and it doesn't stick to retainer effectively. Seemed dried out. So glad I woke up in time as could have been serious if I hadn't!.

Its good product

I got these as a temporary fix for my broken permanent retainers when I couldn't see the dentist right away. The metal from my retainer kept scratching my mouth and it was so uncomfortable to eat any food. So Id just cover it with this dental wax and it felt like nothing! Only thing is depending on where you have it in your mouth it easily comes off, especially after eating and brushing, but I didn't mind replacing them.
