Review: These Do Not Stick to an Open Wound and Help With Healing - My hubby somehow managed to get a huge deep scrape on his lower arm at least 3" by 3". As part of his months of treatment I ordered these pads to cover the gaping wound and used a stretchy wrap to insure that it stayed in place since he is quite active for a 78 year old. I truly believe that these pads really helped with his healing and he has hardly any scar now. These pads not only did not stick to his wound, they absorbed the fluids that oozed, and yet did not disintegrate or leave any debris behind. A win all of the way around! I will be keeping these on hand now since he tends to be a little accident prone...

**Q: Does it tear easily?**
A: I cut it into small rectangular pieces usually around 1-2" by 1" and apply those to the wound(s). Cutting those pieces out of the big square 4"x4" patch is easy for me with any reasonably sharp scissor.
I also usually apply a little bit of saline solution to the material before applying it to the wound. Just enough to make the patch moist but not drenched.  That was advice from the nurses in the wound clinic we have gone to.

**Q: Can you save unused portion for later use?**
A: Yes you can.  Just make sure you close the package tightly.  I always place my unused pirtion in a ziplock bag

**Q: How often does dimora ag silver calcium alginate wound dressing pads need to be changed?**
A: The longest time is 7 days. If large amount of wound exudate, it needs to be replaced within 1-2 days.

**Q: Does it matter which side is in the wound?**
A: No, it doesn't matter which side is on the wound.
