Great family game
Such a fun game and a real hit with everyone and wt have a range of different ages. It’s super easy to set up and we love how it connects to the app and the TV, which makes it feel really interactive and modern. You can play on the real board or in the app. You can also play with players in different locations, which we really enjoyed and made it perfect over Christmas and New Year when not everyone was together. Great mix of questions, lots of laughs and friendly competition. We’ve played it loads already and it never gets boring. Would definitely recommend 👍

Fun game that keeps you coming back
Love this game. Great for the family or as a couple or with friends. Great feature to play remotely with people who don’t have it is really good. Constant changing of new categories, keeps it fresh and fun. Personally we don’t use the physical board or pieces, opting for the virtual board

Best quiz game out there
I’ve always loved board games, and have been on the hunt for a decent quiz game for some time now. Having owned the game for a couple of months now, both remotely and in a room with real life people, I feel obliged to give this gem a review… First of all, the presentation of the game is excellent. Everything about the packaging, board and playing pieces oozes quality, which you’d expect considering the game isn’t cheap. You even get some little stands to place your devices on if you so choose. The playing pieces themselves are really cute, and are meant to represent famous boffins through history. Some of these are more instantly recognisable than others, and there is a diverse representation, but I’d like to see a wheelchair user (Stephen Hawking?) included in future iterations. Also, note that some of the characters are playable on the remote version but aren’t included in all versions of the board game… The game was very easy to register with my iPad using the registration card provided. I had a game set up within 10 minutes of opening the box for the first time, and the app does a good job of explaining various features. Included with the game are several question packs, which cover a good range of topics. Some are a little more obscure (celebrity arrests?!) but there’s also some great general knowledge packs to get you started (pub quiz and back to school are always popular). However, if you want to get the most from the game you will want to purchase additional quiz packs to expand your questions. These range in price from £1.99-2.99, although there are some special packs on offer where you can purchase several together (through the website). The price of the packs doesn’t seem too unreasonable, but some packs are much smaller than others (for example, movie music only has around 100 questions, so it won’t be long before you see them being repeated). Before the game starts you select which six quiz packs the game will use as categories during the game. I feel it would be great if there were an option to let the game pick six categories at random for you, to keep things fresh and interesting, but this isn’t a huge problem. Now for the really clever part. Some people who are playing don’t even need to be in the same place as you. I was dubious about this feature before I bought the game, but it’s safe to say I’ve been very pleased with how reliably it works. I’ve played several games with people hundreds of miles away, both on my own and with other people playing around the board. The app allows remote players to roll a virtual dice and move their pieces on a virtual board. If using a real board too you just have to remember to also move your virtual piece so remote players can see what you’re doing. Personally I find it easier just to do away with the physical board altogether if playing against anyone remotely. App connection is good, and dropouts are few and far between. Now for a few (minor gripes)… The colours of some of the squares on the board are way too similar to each other, and it can be a real challenge trying to work out which category you’ve landed on at times (red/yellow/orange are the main culprits here). I’m not sure why they didn’t opt for more distinct colours, such as black etc. Also, every time you land on a question and select the relevant category on the app it then plays a little video sequence that you have to press ‘next’ to move past. Except you can’t press ‘next’ straight away, as there is a few second delay. This gets a little irritating after a while, but it could be down to the question loading in the background. Still, it would be good to turn this video off if possible. The final gripe is with the random bonuses the game can give to players during the game. Whilst this gives the game some gameshow sheen and can be quite exciting at first, when you are outsmarting a player and then you find they suddenly get a 4x score multiplier on a 500 point question (thus winning 2000 pts if they get it right) this can suddenly become VERY annoying! It would be great to have the option to turn these random bonuses off, but alas, it’s not there (yet). But please don’t let these minor issues put you off this excellent game. I’ve had so much fun playing it with family and friends, and I love how customisable it is with the varied quiz packs. It’s also very family friendly, with several quiz packs available that are suitable for children, plus you can set the ages of players in game to adjust the questions accordingly. This was a very good idea. Overall you won’t be disappointed with Outsmarted. Buy it now!

Great fun to play for any age. Hope this review helps you choose!
This game is a great idea . I try to buy a new one every year but the last two years were disappointing buys (Beat the Parents was one - which was fine but they outgrew it quickly) this is definitely a fun replacement. In my top 5 favourite board games. Ifyou are playing in two teams if 3 (for some reason it doesn't mention being able to play in pairs which is a little stupid. I'll just have to add the name of my cat and the other two players could have a imaginary third to make up a trio I guess ? Lol, anyway there are loads of adjustments you can make and if all else fails and you can't make any sense of what I've said , plenty of people have reviewed it on YouTube too. ANYWAY we played it first time last night. 6 of us. Easy peasy set up. You just download the app for the game , chose your settings (single players, teams, answer time etc, you can give a team that might be real underdogs extra "assists" which are based off Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.ie 50:50, extra 30 seconds or skip (if you have any, you can pick them up randomly too. Definitely not a long and lengthy game like Monopoly or Risk but great discussions over the answer before the timer runs out. The aim of the game is to collect all rings and get through the final stage but your opponent(s) can catch up if you don't get your final 3 answer streak.Every question is timed. The question and interface shows up on whoever has the app downloaded but it's not like you can cheat or anything. You couldn't Google the answer with a timer like 🤣 You can host a game and have remote players you know who want to play or aren't present to join in. There's no endings in a tantrums, sour grapes, accusations of cheating and all that other Christmas Game Night Mayhem 😂 So not a family massacre type of game😂, It has great questions in the starter pack in the app in the initial board game but you can buy new categories to add to your library on the app itself for 2 euro a pretty fantastic amount of differing questions and categories. There is something for everyone! We played 5 adults on teenager 😊 it's the best game for all she groups I've found in a long time and you can, when setting the players up you can label them as child, teen or adult. Only problem I found there is, is that the team who had the teen got far more easy questions to answer because they were a little easier as she was on their team - rather on her level of general knowledge and specialist subjects. There's a big differende between a 13 and 16 year old knowledge wise but she was smashing those answers so it was great to see everyone having so much fun. Give it a go, you can have up to 24 players via team play too! Hope my review helps you choose

Fun game for all ages
Base game includes a good number of questions, with difficulty tailored to different ages so kids, teenagers and adults can all play together. Question packs can be a bit disappointing as some don’t have that many questions and can burn through them all in just a few games. In some questions, the photo that accompanies it can give away the answer (eg question asking what the chemical symbol for sodium is, had a picture of the periodic table zoomed in on Na-Sodium). More video questions would be good. Questions seem to be updated regularly, with up to date music questions and current affairs. Larger number of questions in the add-on packs would be good, but otherwise a great game that we play regularly as a family.

It's a Must Have!
This is so much fun! The questions are updated daily and I have had questions in the breaking news section that was about the previous day. I love the fact that regardless of age the questions are tailored to the age group and anyone can win. If you get to the final round but fail it gives other people to get to it and steal it from you. It's top notch, well worth the money and given I have family across the UK and Ireland, and we can all play together and talk throughout is awesome.

Fun, Fast, and Perfect for All Ages!
Outsmarted is a fast-paced, brain-teasing board game that feels like a live TV quiz show! This is actually our second purchase—this time for my nephew, who loved playing my copy so much he had to have his own. What makes it great for all ages is the app’s ability to tailor questions to each player’s age level, so kids and adults can compete fairly. The app integration is seamless, and the variety of questions keeps every game fresh and exciting. You can even buy add-on packs to keep the game new and different every time. The only downside we found was that during peak times, like Christmas and New Year’s Eve, it could be hard to use the game due to heavy server traffic on the app. Even so, it’s perfect for family game nights or competitive fun with friends—interactive, engaging, and endlessly replayable.

Great for everyone.
Fun game, it does stand up to the hype! Doesn't take long to set up and the rounds are punchy and fun. The ability to set the questions to an age range is great when you have a variety of people playing (ages 57,37, 11and 5). Although recommended for 8 plus he was able to press the buttons, and play the visual games such as logos or animation questions. This game is easy to play, we found having a tablet for the questions and the game to play on then use a phone to have the instructions at hand for the first time just helped with understanding. But on 2nd/3rd game we didn't need the instructions anymore. Highly recommended.... nice add on if you get the question wrong it throws up some info surrounding the question so you even learn abit too! Lovely quality and ease of installation of the app.

A Family Favorite That Never Gets Old! - Still Playing 9 Months Later!
We bought Outsmarted as a Christmas gift for our 9-year-old daughter, and 9 months later it’s still one of our favorite family games! We play it regularly together and the excitement is always there. What we love the most: 1) A great variety of up-to-date questions, well organized by category, with very few repetitions. 2) An educational aspect that appeals to both parents and kids, while still being lots of fun. 3) The option to buy new question packs to keep the game fresh over time. 4) Works seamlessly with both the board and the tablet, making the experience modern and smooth. 5) Possibility for friends and family members to join the game remotely It’s the perfect mix of fun and learning, and a wonderful way to spend quality family time. We definitely recommend it!

Family fun for all ages
This ia such a fun game. I love that you can select a age range for each player. This makes it a great game for everyone to play and even the youngest player can win. I also like that you don't necessarily need the game board to play, all you need is the app. We were on vacation and were able to play on the tv with 3 generations. It was great.
