XP Deus Metal Detector with WS5 Full Sized Wireless Headphones

This was a birthday gift for my husband. He is really gadget savvy but this is taking a bit to figure out sounds and depths and what is it but he is enjoying playing and learning

For the money it is the best Machine you can get (excluding the CTX 3030). This machine is super fast, super light and allows a huge amount of programming for any conditions that you can throw at it. I prefer the backphones as to the huge headphones since you can wear the backphones under a brimmed hat and keep them out of the rain or foul weather. The remote isnt waterproof but you can buy a watertight case for the remote and still have fun in the foul weather. The battery usage depends on the programming and settings you are using but it will still give you a full days worth of detecting regardless of settings draining the power. The wireless abilities of this machine make you wonder why the rest of the industry hasnt caught up yet. It is truly amazing to have not a single cord or wire anywhere. The technology of the software is update able via your computer and USB cable so there is no need to worry about having old outdated software down the road. Be sure and get Andy Sabisch's book before you take this machine out. it will save you a ton of time and frustration in the field.

I own a White's V3i, White's Dual Field PI, Minelab CTX 3030, Garret ACE350 and an XP Deus. The Deus is the ONE detector I consistently grab. It's response is blazingly fast which allows for confident sweeping. The only negative I can think of is for water seaching, it's not going to work out as well since you won't get signal to the head unit. That's when I get out the CTX3030 and Dual Field...but they aren't nearly as easy to carry all day. LOVE the Deus!

PROS: Light Weight, Completely Wireless, Unmatchable ease when Changing Coils; Advanced Programmability, Firmware Internet Updates, four Non-Motion Modes and Easy Ground Balancing.CONS: Display is not Color (in the big picture this may be trivial, but my only negative)The XP Deus WS5 is the Ferrari of Metal Detectors. Its scope of digital adjustments tips perfection. It does have a learning curve... requiring some study to fully appreciate. Performance wise it exceeds all the competition and completely rewrites the engineering design approach for Metal Detectors. It's just a real pleasure to use. The competition; here in the States, has to realize that the days of carrying a six pound box around with wires everywhere are ending. Being the Ferrari of Metal Detectors it is expensive. It looks and feels expensive and its performance is second to none. It's the best available...
