I Love The Drums!!
My Review... Easy Five Stars!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ok so where do I even start? I absolutely love love these drums! The packaging is very neat, clean and protective! The package came a week earlier than expected, Awesome! The Noise level is very adjustable being the fact these are electronic drums. What fascinates me with electronic drums is how can you get a Cymbal sound out of something rubber and drum sound out of a mesh drum? The only two so called "Cons" I discovered were that the drumsticks hitting the Rubber Cymbals is very loud but I think sticks hitting Anything would be loud LOL. The Rack is a little wobbly but that is ok! The drums are very very Durable, they can definitely take a beating. I personally love to play very gentle because I play drums to a lot of hymns in my lessons at Church. Portability not sure I imagine it's doable, probably easier than acoustic drums. I also added an extra drum and Cymbal to my drums as well to match the Church Drums. Story Time... I never dreamed I would play Drums! Yes for the longest time I avoided drums and percussion because it is just so so loud! Playing drums kind of taught me how to be gentle, ironic right? The beautiful thing with electronic drums is you can turn the Volume up or down! So I first learned how to play the drums at Church in February 2023. They had an "Alesis Nitro" there and I absolutely fell in love with the way it feels to play them. I can't get enough of how soft the rubber cymbals and mesh drums are. So found I have a different drumming style in me, than every other drummer. I just use my hands and fingers to play. I tried the Drumsticks for all of 3 seconds and Yuck for me... I barely even touch the drums and I get a good loud crispy sound. It's perfect for worship Music because it's not too loud or quiet, just right. I had my first lesson and they taught me a really basic 4/4 beat there. The thing that fascinates me the most with electronic drums its not just how hard you hit the drums but where you hit the drums and cymbals you get different volumes. It's almost like there are "Hot Spots" where you hit and it is way loud. Oooh So fascinating! The electronic drums have a beautiful sound at Church... So eventually I came to Amazon here in December of 2024 and bought me my own drums for my bedroom. OMG! I love love them so so much! The funniest thing is I ordered them and they were supposed to come the day after New Year's instead they came on Christmas Eve! Now that's the best Christmas gift ever!! Now I can play them for hours and I don't have to impatiently wait for Sundays at Church lol. What's great about having drums at home is what I learn in my Drum lessons at Church I can practice at home now. I even made it on a Worship Team finally too! Finally I am getting the practice I need. I love the songs. So as for gift value, it's a spectacular gift idea for anyone who loves to play drums! Priceless!

Great set with lots of flexibility to configure
I got this set with the expansion pack which was well worth it to me (the 4th Tom has a rim effect that sounds a bit like a tambourine and the second Crash has a different sound than the standard one.) It was relatively easy to put together but in the end it took me 8 hours to play around with things to get them to where I wanted. Then theres the wires which they don’t show in the product images… The drum heads are solid but small, especially the snare. The Kick drum basically needs 20+ pounds backstopping it or to drill the base into something. The frame is pretty sturdy but the two shorter end posts will tend to lean in for me (I did put more than intended on them and only have two Toms on the front bar. (I’m going to put something to lock the rubber bottoms of the rail stand in place.) The choke feature on the Crash & Ride Cymbals is a little sketchy. Theres about a 2” section dead center on the edge that controls it but if you miss the exact spot, no Choke which may not be the end of the world but is annoying when you expect it to work like grabbing a regular Cymbal only to find you were slightly off. Another plus is that it’s easy to fold the sides in and pickup and move. It’s surprisingly light while still sturdy overall. The components to setup each head or Cymbal all have three points of adjustment for tons of control. I would try to get it setup how you want it in terms of height, spacing, angles etc. before running the cables and the leave enough slack to make adjustments without having to reconfigure any cables. Because I knew I would have to screw the Kick pad into something I set up the set on a piece of 2’ x 4’ plywood which is great with something underneath to protect the floor which then allows you to slide the set around easily. I’m very happy with the set and the only additional thing I’ll get ag some point is a double-base pedal. This is a perfect set for a beginner and with the expansion pack it really looks impressive with four Cymbals and four Toms. Overall, great set for a beginner or anyone who doesn’t want to spend $3k plus on a professional digital set.

Great set for the price.
First off let me say the set really is a good bargain set. If your just needing something at home you can practice on without driving the family & neighbors crazy, & without hurting the wallet much, it’s perfect... that being said, I do have a few things I think could’ve been done a bit better even on a bargain class drum set. 1) I wish the module put out louder volume... I’ve tried different headsets and speakers but unless you’re willing to spend another $150 on a high class pair of headphones or a cheap subwoofer, any ambient noise will make it hard to hear the kick, and soft snare notes. 2) The “Bass Drum” is so small and light you will constantly be stopping to pull it back every 2 to 3 kicks. It moves if a light breeze hits it. (2A:You can remedy this a bit if you put down a place mat or rug to put the set on, and use some Velcro to hold in place) (2B: Or like me you can get a used bass drum from a higher class set that has a little weight plus the typical bar-stands on it. Most individual drums can plug into any module that uses 1/4” aux cables) 3) I also wish the high hat control was a little heavier duty and better built 3A: the amazing thing is the Alesis nitro module does allow you to assign any of the 256 different drum voices to whichever piece you want. Meaning you can assign the same kick sound to both the bass drum and the HH-Control Pedal giving you a double kick ability without having to spend the kind of money it takes to get sets that come with double kicks as standard. (3B: but there’s a minor issue when using the HH control for double kick that comes from the cheap/light build of the pedal... now & then When you are playing with the HH pedal as a kick it will make a crack noise like shutting a highhat and kicking bass at same time. And it still acts as open/close function for the High Hat even when you’ve assigned the kick voice to it. So you have to time hitting your high hat to always be alternating with using the pedal as kick. If you do both simultaneously your high hat will sound like your hitting it while wide open. Summary: all in all... the fact that for less than $500 you can get a complete electronic drum set that comes with all mesh heads (excluding bass drum) and feels and sounds pretty dang good; Is amazing. It’d be great for your kids who are just starting their drum journey, (and great for parents as it is 1,000xs quieter than a traditional acoustic set) but also great for people like me who started playing 25years ago. But after becoming a husband & father, your spouse finally got you to put the set in storage. Then your church asks you to join the worship team and you need a way to practice (without getting a divorce) lol. It’s a cheap and easy fix that your spouse (& neighbors) will appreciate.

Great for beginners - be sure to use the Melodics free month
I'm a beginner. I know nothing about drums but I thought they are cool so I did some research. Reviews & videos mention this set as being good for beginners for the price. I'll probably never be very good. But I'm 2 weeks in and I think this kit is really cool. I had no plan on how to learn to play. When you register the kit on the website (DO IT), it offers you a free month of Melodics (computer or laptop needed, I recommend a laptop set up directly in front of the drum set). I went ahead and signed up. Melodics is absolutely amazing, it has guided training and lessons. This kit does not come with the drum throne or headphones, you'll need to purchase those separately, but they come in a separate bundle. You'll also need a usb-a to usb-b cable to connect the kit to the computer to use melodics most efficiently. My only other suggestion is, I think there's the same kit, but with the 10-inch snare. You might want to get that one instead, but I'm doing just fine with the 8-inch snare in this kit.

Great set for Beginner or intermediate drummer.
This set is great, it comes with many options for customization. However the directions are absolutely pathetic. There are no written instructions at all you must simply figure it out on your own. Their installation guide is just a bunch of pictures where the parts are labeled with letters like ABCD but the actual components have no corresponding letters at all. Luckily I play drums for my church and we have a similar set there, my brother-in-law also has this exact set so after looking over there sets I was able to put mine together. I bought the expansion pack from guitar center so I have the extra Tom and the extra symbol. I highly recommend you purchase the expansion pack as it makes it much more fun to play. The drums are high quality! They sound great! You can create custom sets and mix your favorite sounding drums. They are extremely responsive. They register hits as fast as I am capable of hitting them. True recoil feels like your hitting a real drum. The question I always ask myself when leaving a review, would you buy this again? My answer without hesitation is Yes! This kit is well worth the money and if I needed another drum set I would not hesitate to buy this one again!

Great if your needs match its strengths
I read a ton of reviews and questions/answers before buying this set, and I have to say I think the crowd-sourcing was pretty accurate. Here is what I would say: - This is a great set to play/practice with headphones. It takes up a relatively small space, and you can generally have the experience of playing a basic kit. I am learning, and it has been a lot of fun to play this kit. The click track feature is really great (it also tells you if you are on time, early or late, and the tempo, signature, etc. are all adjustable). I haven't tried playing along with a song yet. This set meet my needs perfectly: Learn to play in an apartment setting where you can't play real drums. - This is not an ideal set if you are looking to use it as an electronic set you want to play out loud. There isn't much power. You pretty much have to crank the volume to the max just to hear the sounds in your headphones. Even cranked, you can barely here the kick drum. If you live in a place where it doesn't matter if you make noise, or if you want to use the drums to play with others or play for people, you are better off getting a real drum kit. One other note: The assembly was a bit harder than I expected. It took me a couple of hours, I was confused at times, and I really had to work to screw some of the pieces in. The paper instructions really were not helpful at all. Luckily, the company has a video tutorial on its website. The video is a bit too short, as it rushes through steps, even skipping some, but it was enough for me to be able to complete the assembly. It's not a big deal, just be aware. Again, though, for the right purpose, this is a great set.

A great product! I do have some comments to consider...
I have had this product for four weeks and overall I'm very much enjoying it. I am a beginner, as I am sure many reading this will be. It was easy to assemble, sounds great, and was easy to learn the way the sound module works. Pros: - Nice stick rebound on the pads - Very compact - Affordable - Great sound - Easy to assemble - Low noise. (The mesh heads are great) - Aux input allows the drummer to play along to external music source. Cons- - For the "Nitro Mesh" kit only, I have one single _major_ complaint: The 8" diameter snare drum is ANNOYING!!.. It is annoying not so much because it is only 8 inches in diameter .. but because it is only 8 inches __AND__ it has a very tall rim around it, made even taller by a rubber rim protector. This forces you to hold the sticks at a much higher elevation, and at a steeper angle, in order to avoid striking the rim. You can remove the rubberized rim protector and this will help very modestly-- I tried this and it proved to me that the bigger snare would help immensely! Indeed, most drum sets have a rather large snare drum head (especially compared to an 8" one), and the rim is absolutely not as recessed as the 8" unit provided with the Nitro Mesh kit.... SO!... This resulted in me buying a 10" dual zone snare off of Ebay that is used with the "Alesis Surge Mesh" or DM10 (i paid just under $100). That extra 2" along with a rim that stands significantly less proud makes an incredible difference! It is not for me to say if this is a big enough issue to suggest you, the reader of this review, to buy a "Alesis Surge" or do what I did and upgrade my "Nitro" kit with a larger snare head. I can only tell you that the upgrade to the 10" snare was VERY much worth it to me. The upgrade made holding the sticks more comfortable, and I don't think I've accidentally struck the rim once since the upgrade. The photos show that the rim of the 8" (black counter hoop) are 5/8 of an inch tall from the surface of the pad, and the 10" upgrade pad has a rim that is under 7/16" of an inch tall.

Newbie
44 years old. Been playin' guitar for over 30 years. Learned Ukulele not long ago. Now learning drums. The kit was small in box and big in sound. Plugged it into my cheapo and very old crate acoustic amp. Sounds GREAT. I suck at drums. Never played a drum in my life. I mean, I've tapped on desks, but I've never learned lesson one about drumming. I didn't know how to hold the sticks. I didn't even set up the drums right or sit at them right at first. Snare drum goes between the legs. I didn't know. I'm super new at this! And I'm uncoordinated and have a serious lack of rhythm. I couldn't do even the basic first lesson with the right hand doing 1/8th notes, right foot keeping beat on 1 and 3 while left hand hits snare on 2 and 4. I've always struggled with limb independence. Even after 3 decades of guitar and singing. Anyway, the kit is AMAZING. I like it a lot. Obviously, I'm not a good drummer. Let it be known I am a terrible drummer that has NO idea what I'm talking about. But as a novice. I feel like I spent my money well and I'm happy I did my research. Super happy with this kit. It's fun to play. Nice to finally learn drums. Tonight, I played with a song, and was able to handle simple beat and fill that I messed up 10 times during the song. I call that progress, because I couldn't even hardly use the sticks 24 hours ago. From the experience of an experienced "musician" (hobbyist). I'm having an easy time learning this drum set. The module is intimidating to the newbie at first, but the user guide and online videos makes learning super easy. Having fun with it. Heck of a great purchase. Have already recommended it to friends. --Update-- I'm no longer a "newbie" but I'm finally to the point that I'm a good enough drummer to realize just what a terrible drummer I am. I just can't recommend this drum set enough. It's amazing. I got the 4th tom and the 2nd crash. It's SO fun to play. I wish the damn drum pads weren't so damn tiny. I crack sticks together more than I make drum noises trying to hit 'em. But a review from a total newbie to drumming who has now become almost competent at drumming... this is a damn good set and it is lasting just fine. I absolutely recommend this drum kit. You won't be disappointed. But you'll wish for larger toms and the snare is still pretty tiny and just too deep-set. Alesis. Please make a better snare. It's just the damn rim is annoyingly high. Guess I gotta buy a nicer snare. The damn thing is rough. But damn fine drum kit. Slainte. *toasts* ----- Update again - some time later. Removed two stars. It's cheap, small, and the customer support experience matches the price tag. -1 star) The top hat pedal broke. Because cheap plastic. Whatever, I knew it was cheap when I saw the price. It took multiple emails and 5 days to get a response from Alesis. -2 stars) Apparently no warranty. I just got a link for a $31 replacement top hat pedal from them. I bought it. The experience however made me realize that my glowing recommendation was premature and there's a reason it's inexpensive. And customer support knows it, better than customers. Adding broken pedal pics. I did mention I'm a newbie. Cheap drums kits are still just too good to be true, huh? -- Update: Adding another pic of the replacement top hat pedal that doesn't match the broken one and the kick/drum pedal.
