There must be a face shield available that will fit this grinder

I have this grinder and I love it. It does not have a shield that I am aware of. What I did was to purchase an inexpensive 10 gallon aquarium. If you lay the aquarium on one of the long sides with the opening facing you, you can place the grinder in the aquarium and have glass protection on the top, sides and back. This works great for me and is easy to clean with a hose. Hope this helps.

I've only had my grinder for two years and not had to replace the bit yet. I looked at Lowes though and I am pretty sure they had them. I figured when I had to replace one, I would just look on amazon for the bits. Hope this helps...

How is the glass supported while using the small bit? Is there another support, does it mount down low, or is it just in the air?

When the grinding bits are stacked as shown in the picture, there is not another support for the glass for the 1/4" bit. There is however, an Inland Craft accessory available to provide extra support. It's called the SecondStory work surface and is not included with this glass grinder machine.
