The SDA media is comprised of enzymatic digest of casein and animal tissues which provide a tious source of amino s and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose is the fermentable carbohydrate and inhibits bacterial growth due to its high concentration. Agar is the gelifying agent.
