USB 3.0 to SATA IDE Hard Drive Disk Adapter Converter by EAXER for 3.5/2.5 Inch IDE/SATA HDD/SSD with Power Supply

I'm an IT Tech and this device was a good fit for gathering data from hard drives with IDE or SATA connections. I ordered Qty: 2; one for me and one for a colleagues' use. The boxes arrived in very good time and well packaged inside a 17cm x 13cm x5cm box. I removed the contents and immediately didn't like the shape of the mains cable plug. I was of an enclosed moulded design with no sign of a removable fuse. When I connected the components together to get data from a drive, there was no power, evident also by the AC adapter light not being illuminated. I used a multimeter to test the output from the mains cable and nothing! I grabbed the second mains cable from the other box; exactly the same. So two devices and neither of them immediately usable. Luckily, I had a spare mains cable and the device worked without further incident.The only thing I noticed during the data gathering operation was that the adapter plate with the three drive connectors did get warm but nothing more than warm; my first use was with a SATA data cable rather than an IDE drive.Despite the mains cable issue, this device performed as expected and if the company resolves the mains cable issue, I would recommend this device as a useful tool for the purpose it's designed for.UPDATE: Immediately after posting this review, I sent an email to the company and within 75mins, I'd received a response from Jack who explained that the plug doesn't come with a fuse but the AC adapter does. He also offered to replace the defective cables immediately. Now that's the kind of customer service I like and have upped my star rating accordingly.

I recently purchased this item only to find that it did not work on my SATA DRIVE but was ok with the IDE DRIVE, following several attempts to find the source of the problem, I contacted the seller whom initially misunderstood my problem which was a little frustrating, however once we were on the same page the seller lived up to their Guarantee promise and arranged for me to obtain a replacement without having to return the faulty item.So now I'm a happy chappy with the item I purchased and would recommend them

Not impressed with this product at all. The pins come out of the power connector that converts from molex to sata. It's not recognized in the USB 3 slots on my PC and when it does work it's so slow. I have gone back to my old device that's a lot more reliable.

Good ok when you fathom out what goes where, I think you should supply some instructions? I managed to download a instruction manual off the internet, every thing was the same as I got in my box but a (Newer Technology ) brand.

No information on how to connect it together. But once figgered it out I recovered music and photos from an old drive ok. So knocked a star off for no instructions.

I'm not a technical person but I managed to connect my 20 year old hard drive taken from my old desktop to my laptop using this kit with no issues. Recommended

I was very impressed with this simple to use kit.No screws to worry about, just plug and go. It works well with both SATA and IDE drives.Very good product.
