The DIY approach is significantly more straightforward than traditional hardwiring through the fuse box, which typically requires testing multiple fuses for ACC and BAT connections. The product arrived promptly, and I was initially very satisfied. However, I discovered that none of the wire adapters included with the Dongar Pro were compatible with my 2019 Toyota Corolla. While the instruction manual does contain a compatibility list, I wish this information had been readily accessible on the Amazon product description page prior to purchase. This would have helped me verify compatibility before ordering. Despite having to return the product due to incompatibility with my specific vehicle, I still rate this 5 stars based on its quality, design, and ease of use. I would recommend this product to others, provided they verify their vehicle's compatibility beforehand.

I just installed this Dongar adapter in my 2025 4Runner Limited for my dash cam, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I was dreading running wires all over the place or messing with the fuse box, but this thing made it super simple. Installation took maybe 10 minutes. Just unplugged my rearview mirror, plugged this adapter in, then plugged the mirror back into it. That's it. The whole thing tucks up behind the mirror so you can't even see it. Looks totally clean and factory, which I really appreciate. The parking mode options are what sold me on this. I've been using the timed mode when I'm out running errands or grabbing lunch, and it's nice knowing my dash cam is still recording for a few hours after I park. Haven't had any issues with a dead battery either, which was my main concern. The adapter seems to monitor things and shut off before it drains too much. Build quality feels solid too. Everything fits snug and doesn't rattle or move around. I was worried it might stick out or look bulky, but it's really compact and hidden up there. If you're looking to add a dash cam to your 4Runner without dealing with a mess of wires, this is the way to go. Made the whole process painless.

Perfect solution for a clean DIY dash cam install. Plugged directly into the rearview mirror with zero wire clutter and worked immediately. The parking mode options are easy to configure. Highly recommend if you want a professional-looking setup without hardwiring. Installed on 2024 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Turbo - had to fully start and turn off for parking mode to work (not just ACC power).

WORKS WITH 2026 LEXUS IS350 F-SPORT. Very easy but timely installation. Watched a youtube on how to remove the rear view mirror housing and found the cable. REMEMBER TO ONLY ROUTE THE ADAPTER CABLE TO THE CABLE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE MIRROR (single 10 pin cable in the left side of the housing). Works great and hides well behind my mirror from the driver's seat. (See picture #1). Blends well into the rest of the car's interior (See picture #2).

Great device for an easy install of my dash cam

This would not work with my vehickle but I gave 4 stars because Dongar gave my money back. I think this mostly works with luxury newer cars so ypu dont have to mess with the wiring system.

Purchased this to install in a 4th Gen Mazda 3. Followed the instructions and the windshield wipers would turn on by themselves - the wiper stalk would not do anything. Removed the device and then the wipers would not work at all, plus the dash lights were not working. Had to disconnect the battery to reset the car in order to fix the issues. This is a new car less than one week old. Not sure how a power cord for the rearview mirror would cause such severe faults in the car. Would not trust this again.

Unfortunately had to return due to defective dashcam. Works as described and very easy to install.

this item doe's not work in parking mode on Australian model lexus. i have been told by dongar that Amazon is not an authorized reseller of dongar products and as such they are not liable for any refunds.

Cool product, which can save $100-200 labour cost for hard wiring.

Installed for my dash cam on 6th gen Toyota 4Runner. Works great, install was a bit finicky to get the plastic trim off (but that is the car dependent, not the product). Otherwise has been working without issue. Dash cam turns on consistently whenever car is started. Much cleaner than having to run wiring. Would recommend.
