Got the 2 inch
The only things about this is that the plastic bristles are actually quite stiff and will scratch your arm/shoulders/face if you dont mind what youre doing, but hey it works great, and thats all the really matters! On the brush it says with boar bristles... so Im not to smart about this put I suppose the style of brush is called porcupine and has nothing to do with the animal... I thought perhaps they used porcupine bristles or something... that is just my ignorance, anyways it grabs the hair without tugging, you can even kep rolling it up without fear of your hair gettign in a tangled mess, and to save time Ive been using it to tease my crown, which works great. But I do wish I wouldve gone with my better instinct and gone to the 3" diameter... I have 2 feet or more of hair... the 2 still does it right, just thinking the 3 in would probably give me a bigger blow out? IDK, I might purchase the 3 in in the future! Great quality! Ive returned brushes I bought from Ulta because bristles were falling off, I have not seen one bristle fall off! This is just a classically awesome brush every woman should have, and the price... man, cant get quality like this for that low... Ive had $20 brushes and not been as happy as I am with this brush... Ive basically been bragging about it to anyone that comes over, its my new favorite purchase :)

Good heat resistance
The brush is verry good quality. It can resist the heat of a professional blow dryer. Definitely buying again

One of my favorites
This is for the Spornette Porcupine Rounder Brush-2" This is my one of my favorite round brushes (the others being the Marilyn Ovali and the Marilyn Tuxedo), I have shoulder length, fine straight hair, but lots of it, and I use this brush about every other time I do my hair, and sometimes on its own as it's really fast. Most of the time I use two brushes (can be different ones) at a time (one in my hair, and one styling another part). The Spornette doesn't grip the hair as well as the Marilyn brush, but it does provide a better lift, and I've had my Spornette porcupine (no porcupines used;)for a long time, and haven't lost any bristles. Guess I got lucky. Mine is VERY sturdy, and very easy to handle. It's a little on the heavy side for such a small brush, but I only paid seven plus dollars for it, and it was well worth it. There are many Youtube blowout videos and quite a few of them set the hair with the brushes as they go along (some use four at a time)...and I've seen them with all sorts of round brushes...metal, boar, porcupine). No matter what brush you choose, for the round brush part, your hair needs to be almost dry. One of my favorite round brushes (the Tuxedo) sat around for years because I didn't know that...my hair was just too damp. You live and learn. This brush is wonderful for the price point. Used with my new Ionic hair dryer (not expensive, but a good one), my hair looks very shiny and professionally styled even when I only use this brush. It's easy to get that "Just came from the salon look" after you've practiced a while Enjoy!

nice shape, fun and pleasant to use, volumizing; many boar bristles have fallen out but the few left makes it worth it to use it
upon first use many of the boar hairs fell off in my lap--like snowflakes. at first outraged, i was too lazy to return it as per usual. admittedly after reading a million reviews i'd have to agree the brush itself is clearly made with experience. the wood handle and body is nice and the size is luxurious to use. it definitely gives body and shine to the extent that people think i've washed my hair. it does seem to make it grow. this might a function of the boar hair and maybe the way the brush is built to build volume. this is my first boar brush so perhaps this is merely a function of boar bristles. now most of the bristles are the plastic long ones which sort of hurt. still the large round shape makes it nice to use. i do wish there was a mini version to carry in the purse. and one wirh boar bristles that stay in. also, this brush needs a lot of cleaning. i cheat by spraying it with an essential oil disinfectant although i'm not sure how good this is for the wood. i alternate with diluted distilled vinegar. i don't like using soap because of the potential residue. then i brush castor oil through my hair sometimes to moisturize the bristles too.

Straight and smooth
Like the grip, but too large for chin-length bob

Great brush for smoothing styles.
This is an absolutely great brush for getting a smooth style. Does not get stuck in your hair and has a good grip. Very, very reasonably priced for the quality of this brush.

Recommended by Allure many times
I have fine hair and already own a Sonia Kashuk paddle brush that has a mixture of boar and nylon bristles, so I figured this brush would work great too. The boar bristles in this brush are great for distributing oils and the nylon bristles are great for grabbing onto my hair (which is thick even though it's fine). I also like that this brush does not cause static flyaways or pull and tug at my hair. This is a great, affordable brush that makes blowouts so much easier. Important notes: brushes with natural bristles are recommended for all hair types as they do less damage to hair. Also, if you were wondering what size to get, the smaller the diameter of the brush, the more lift and volume it provides.

I love this brush, it makes my hair look thicker and fuller and there's no static. I'm so pleased I bought it.

Just what I was looking for to tilt my fringe under at the bottom and give it some lift. I have very fine blonde highlighted hair and all other brushes have not gripped my hair leaving no effect at all and also made it extremely static, I have spent more on brushes in the past and have a draw full. This brush is great, grips very well during drying and most of all no static, finally my perfect brush. However I would say if any firm styling product was used it may really struggle. Also great for styling the long parts as well as the fringe, again no static and really feels like a scalp massage at the same time without being harsh. The inner bristles are the ones that provide the grip and the longer plastic bristles help to style. From the width from tip to tip of bristles is 2.5inches, and the wooden handle helps prevent static and is in one piece so as the hair does not snag on the joins like some others. I am very pleased with this, mid priced and well worth the money. Other reviewers have found that some bristles come astray, I personally have not experienced this, and mine also arrived with no bent bristles but may be the luck of the draw. My daughter has thicker hair and also loves it, so tested on fine and thick hair.
