It's written by his ex-wife, Irene Thornton. She tells the story of their meeting and quick courtship, their marriage and all its ups and downs, their bitter separation after the failure of his band Fraternity, Bon's near-fatal motorcycle crash and his recovery in her home, and ultimately, their breakup as he leaves domestic life behind and goes on to front AC/DC. She shares letters he wrote her from his life on the road and how she kept track of his career through the 1970s as she watched him slowly make it big. There are some very funny moments in the book and she reveals who Bon really was: a complicated and conflicted but gentle man who, once he started to love you, he would always love you. The final chapter is very touching: The last time she would see him was around New Year's Day 1980, when he came to visit her and her partner (and she was several months pregnant at the time). They stayed close and loving, even though the dynamic had changed from romance to friendship.
