I already owned this, but i am buying a few more for friends. I have a survival rucksack, there are only 3 books that i would recommend putting in. This book being the first! If i buy copies of the other two from Amazon for friends, i will list them in a separate review.But for herbal/medical remedies, this book is ALL you will ever ever ever need, trust me. I adore this book, and if i could make sure that every person on this planet could have any book this one would be top of my list. thank you.

This large book has 474 pages and provides herbal alternatives for minor health ailments.It is also easy to use as the contents are listed from A to Z.I am very happy with this purchase.

Absolutely wonderful. I think we should all have a copy of Bartram's Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine in the home, as I can honestly say it's one of the best purchases I have ever made. Well written it is a comprehensive guide to both the herbal uses of plants and suggested treatments of various ailments. A bargain at the price, I have already used it with great success to reduce pain and speed up the healing of a burn by using calendula/dandelion cream. Arrived very quickly, I shall be making sure to keep my copy with me for as long as it stays in shape.

Well apparently rubbing brandy into your gums can cure a coma!I wasn't sure what to expect from this. It hasn't any pictures, it's like a dictionary and it covers everything from piles to premature ejaculation!It looks like a good book for those who are into herbal medicine!

wonderful encyclopaedic information but tiny type, I would have had to use a magnifying glass which is not ideal when using indexes and looking backwards and forwards so I sent it back. looking for something in slightly larger type even if it doesn't have the same level of information.

Very extensive and detailed reference that suits my needs perfectly. It's great to have a catalogue of references, even though the internet has it all, often you don't know what you want until you happen across it.

It doesn't give any idea of dosages and mentions some very toxic plants that a beginner might use and end up poisoning themselves or someone else and there are either no or no adequate cautions. Publishing a book like this is dangerous and irresponsible. Very disappointed.

Loads of valuable information in here. My friends now ring me up with their ailments for me to check remedies and so far so good. Writing is very small though so I bought a magnifying glass to help read it.
