ROBERTS Universal Carpet Seam Sealer - 8 Oz. (236 mL)

I cut a modern, mass produced wool, oriental carpet to fit a small, irregular-shaped room. Sealed the perimeter fibers to keep them from unraveling. Works fine.

One of my neighbours was selling her house and had a burn in her carpet and asked if I could patch it from another area. I’ve never done it before, but said sure. I did some research on this product and the glue is nice and durable, almost invisible and couldn't see the patches when I was finished and was a great deal in comparison to replacing a carpet.

This product worked to fix the seam in one of my rugs. There was no smell and it seems pretty durable. At first the product looked like a white paste. I was worried it would stain the rug. But, when it dried after about 16 hours, it then hardened into a clear plastic coat over the damaged seam. I'm pretty satisfied with the results, but my feet are not so happy when they step on the clear plastic. It could have been my fault for not reading the directions ?

My carpet in my office started to peel up at the seam in the door way, and I had no idea how to fix it. I considered calling a carpet shop to send someone out to fix it, but I figured it might be worth to watch a Youtube video and see if this was something I could fix myself. A guy on there recommended this product, so for the price, I figured it was worth a shot. Well, it was really easy to apply, just run a small bead under the area you need to lay back down, and let it dry. Just to be safe, I put a heavy book on top of the carpet seam in order to keep good pressure on the spot. After just two hours, the carpet was stuck back down to the ground like I wanted. Well worth the money. PS It's kinda stinky, maybe open a window or something

This is a review on the quality of the product (Glue) as it arrived. The glue leaked out of the bottle and it's frozen on the cap, keeping me from being able to open the cap. Had I purchased this in a store, I would never have picked one with leaked frozen glue on the cap. That tells me that the security cover on the top of the bottle is not tight and can compromise the quality of the glue. Why would someone pick up this bottle, see the leaked glue stuck on the cap and honestly believe the customer would want to pay for that?

I bought this product because the carpet installer did not seal the seams on our new berber carpet. Upon receiving this item, I discovered I would have to pull up the carpet to properly seal the seams. This is not something I was willing to do, I got some metal strips to cover the seams instead. I thought I'd use this product around the firplace area, since that area wasn't sealed. I have yet to do that though. What I DID do, is fix places in the carpet that got pulled when furniture was moved. It turns out, our love seat had some staples left in the feet from 10 years ago. When we sat down, the seat slid and pulled up brand new berber. We were horrified about how to fix this issue. I looked online for a solution, but it was nothing an amateur could really fix. I wasn't willing to cut entire portions out and put new portions in place. This product, though not shown on the packaging for this type of fix, worked! I took the kitchen shears and cut out the loop that pulled up. Thankfully, it only affected a single, narrow row. As the sealer says, it dries clear. The fix isn't noticeable. No one in my family could see where the fix was. I also like that this sealer does not have any discernible odor.

Easy to use and holds tight, doesn’t dry clear. More like light gray. And is very hard when dry. Makes the carpet seam still out like a sore thumb now.

The dogs ate my rug...perfect for sealing the booboos that come with two labs under two that sneak downstairs and chew on the seams on a 10×13 rug! They do not go to that spot because they cant chew thru. Not a pricey fix so try it. Doesnt draw a smell to it like some chemically glues.

I used the glue to carpet a sun room and it worked perfectly. Glued the carpet down well and it helped seal the seams. I would recommend this glue.

sets hard as glass

I purchased this product twice and both times the glue in the bottle was completely dried out, hard as a rock, and not usable. I contacted Roberts customer service and was told the following: "You can try your local Home Depot, to make sure you are getting a good bottle." The delay and trouble with two defective bottles of glue was a real setback for my project.

Does what it says

Used it to rejoin a woven carpet. Glue holds very well, is ok to work with, and by and large transparent. Need to be careful to not apply to thick. Pressure applied to joints must be over night. I used wax paper to ensure glue did not stick to weights.
