If you run an old beast (like I do) you need this.
The check engine light is on again. Another problem. Could be big, could be nothing. This is the only way to tell. Happily my current junker has an OBD2 connector under the dash, so I got this to quickly and repeatedly find out what it's problem is. This works fine with my 2002 Chevy Impala. It's easy to use and decodes the gibberish into plain english. The price is cheap for peace of mind.

Good Value Code Reader
The UI is a little confusing and takes more clicks than I'd like, but it works great as a simple code checker. I have one in each vehicle.

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT ITEM IS NOT UPGRADEABLE
Arrived DOA, I was unable to use it. I also found out that the "Lifetime Free Update" is FALSE and is used as a marketing gimmick to generate sales. The firmware/software on this scanner is not upgradeable per the LAUNCH techs. I was curious to see if I could update device to get it working only to find out that there is no software available that supports this particular scanner even though it includes a USB cable for programming.

Great Run and Gun Diagnostic Tool, Quick and Easy To Use!
I needed a quick, reliable diagnostic tool to keep in my main toolkit, and the Launch Creader 3001 is exactly that. With multiple vehicles in the family, I'm constantly dealing with a pesky check engine light (CEL), and this device has been fantastic. It's so easy to use—truly "plug and play." It gives you fast, accurate fault codes, the DTC lookup is handy, and the live data readout is a huge bonus at this price point. Best of all, once I make a repair, I can easily clear the fault codes and turn off the CEL. It covers the basics exceptionally well and is way faster than pulling out my expensive, complex scanner for a simple code check. Highly recommend this for any serious DIYer or home mechanic who needs quick and simple code-reading and clearing capabilities. A great tool for the money!

Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit. Der Fehlercode wurde stimmig angezeigt.Mein Vertrauen in dieses absolut preiswerte Gerä t war nicht groß.Deshalb habe ich bei Auto Müller,Naila auch ein Auslesen des Codes veranlasst.Der Spaß hat mit 120€ gekostet und es wurde mir ein genaueres Auslesen bzw Fehlersuche für 600 bis 800€vorgeschlagen.Dies habe ich abgelehnt und den im Launch OBD2 Diagnosegerät angezeigten Fehler verfolgt.
