Flair Stainless Steel Piston Espresso Maker

I have had my flair espresso press for over 2 years now and recently bought this as a piston upgrade. It is a huge improvement on the original plastic piston. The plastic piston worked perfect but the added weight of the stainless piston seems to make the system press more smoothly. The Flair without question makes the best espresso!

Nice solid double washered piston for the flair unit. I feel it holds pressure a little better than the plastic units that initially come with the press. The regular do fine but this one is just more solid and holds the pressure better.

I soak the cylinder and this piston in boiled water, to preheat them so the water temperature can be kept around 200 to 205 degrees during the making of the espresso.

Definitely a great addition to the flair, I have not used the plastic plunger that came with the flair. This stainless steel plunger retains heat very well.

Easy to use and great distribution of pressure application

Made of quality and craftsmanship. Huge plus over the wimpy plastic piston. This one is double sealed and double the thickness of the predecessor. Today I actually broke one of the plastic pistons when attempting to brew a 20g double shot for an extra kick. The stainless steel which has no problem with this is able to get just as hot as the chamber when pre warming. I also notice much less unextracted shots. Because it retains heat. Flair should include this in there premium package Imo. Ordering two more. Should last forever besides the seals. Great buy! Very happy with this.
