Pro-King FK-384 Auto Trans Filter Kit

Purchased after my truck experienced the "milkshake of death", known in the Nissan circa 2007 range vehicles. This transmission filter and gasket appear to be OEM quality and fit perfectly. Recommend for sure if dropping the transmission pan.

Filter and gasket fit properly in 2005 Nissan Xterra 4x4. The filter and gasket look completely identical to the original parts that came on the vehicle from factory.The only catch with servicing the Xterra transmission is in replacing the filter. The filter is held in place by 16 bolts. Three of the bolts hang down from the transmission. The nuts for those three bolts are hard to tighten after you replace the filter because there is no way to prevent the bolts from spinning as you install their nuts. I used needlenose pliers to pinch the end of the bolt that hangs down and then tightened the nut with a wrench. Otherwise the process of replacing the filter and gasket is identical to other vehicles.The gasket worked great. Be sure to use a torque wrench to tighten everything to six foot pounds or about 70 foot inches.Very important -- use the correct transmission fluid. 2005 Xterra manual calls for Nissan Matic J fluid but I used Nissan Matic S equivalent made by Amsoil (Signature Series Fuel-Efficient Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid) because Nissan released updated recommendations calling for the Matic S in the 2005 to 2015 models. It takes about five quarts of transmission fluid to do this service. I have had this kit installed for the past 30k miles with no issues. It is time to do another transmission service.The club frontier org website has more information and pictures on changing out transmission pan gasket and filter.Final note, this kit is sold at Advanced Auto Parts for about $18.

Why is it that from the manufacturer.. It's $10 more than O'Reillys? Like local O'Reillys.. Not even on the website with a discount..Can't really add anything esle cause I haven't installed yet but it looks the part.
