The best OCOOPA hand warmer I have tested to date.
This is my third OCOOPA hand warmer I have requested for the review. The first was about 2 years ago and was one of the first products I reviewed for Amazon. The second was received a few weeks ago. It's a similar magnetic split type hand warmer. The two previous OCOOPA hand warmers got lukewarm reviews (pun intended) but I thought the brand had potential. What's interesting about this particular hand warmer (UT4) is it it's a huge improvement over the other very similar OCOOPA hand warmer (UT2) I reviewed a few weeks ago. Many of the issues I critique on the UT2 are non-existent on the UT4. The difference between the two is staggering. The principal behind this hand warmer is quite simple. Many hand warmers can be quite large and bulky. It can be a little annoying and uncomfortable to stick to large hand warmers in each pocket. Split type hand warmers combine 2 smaller hand warmers that can be more easily and comfortably slipped into a pocket that combine together for moments when you need enhanced heating or for ease of storage.I have found the rounded teardrop shape of each half to be particularly good at unintrusively slipping into a pocket we'll also being very comfortable in hand. Each half is on the small and thin side so even when combined they don't take up a lot of space. Of the various electronic hand warmers I've tried, when it comes to shape this one is my favorite.Like a lot of hand warmers this one uses a single button control. Long press to turn off and on. Single press to adjust heating modes. Double press for battery level. What I found interesting is when turned on it defaults to the highest heating setting. Which is a small but appreciated quality of life change. The vast majority of powered heating devices when turned on default to the lowest setting. Which means you always have to fiddle with it to turn it on to the highest level. Even if you want it on the lower setting, it's usually helpful to let powered heating devices run at the highest level for a few minutes just so they get nice and warmed up before dropping them down to a lower level for longer term use. The hand warmers used your standard LED indicator lights to display heat or battery level. I'm not a huge fan of this UI. I have found that in low light or very bright light this type of indicator light setup can be hard to read. In the case of low light environments, the light from neighboring indicator lights tends to spill over so it looks like a neighboring light is on when it's really off. In very bright lit environments the lights are often washed out. Both issues are still present on this hand warmer but in my testing in both environments I have found it to be a little bit more resistant than some of the previous examples I have tested. I would still prefer a display but as far as indicator lights go this is one of the better examples. Furthermore, when you double tap to check battery level it switches to blue LEDs instead of the red LEDs used to display heat levels. Which is another small but worthwhile QOL change. One that my other two OCOOPA hand warmers do not have. I will also note that the indicator lights and power buttons are on the flat side of each hand warmer half. Which means they are visible or accessible when they are in the combined state. To access them you need to split them in half. Not a big deal but as a matter of personal preference I would have preferred if the indicator lights and power button were on the side so they could be viewed, accessed, and in one swift motion with both pieces combined.Unlike the UT2 hand warmer I reviewed a few weeks ago. This UT4 comes with a short USB-A to dual USB-C connectors cable. Which means you can charge both halves at the same time using the same cable and only tie up one USB-A port. Charging speed isn't particularly fast nor is battery capacity on either one of these particularly high. But in both cases they're fine enough for shorter more everyday excursions. The lower battery capacity (a lack of speed charging technologies) might be a blow to those who like the idea of hand warmers that also have power bank functionality but I have never found that to be a particularly practical use case and field conditions. The charging ports are on the left side of each half. But I think it would have been better if one half had the charging point on the left and the other had it on the right. That way when charging both halves together in combined state the USB-C ports are right next to each other and not on opposite ends. Having them be on opposite sides eats up a lot of space when using the dual charging cable. The UT4 will heat up when charging but the temperature is relatively low unlike the concerningly hot temperatures of the UT2 when chargingAlso unlike the UT2, the UT4 comes with lanyard loops and lanyards. They are at the beefiest in the world but they are stronger than the flimsy OCOOPA Union 5s' lanyard loop that broke within a couple of days. The presence of lanyards and lanyard loops may not seem like a big deal, but these are still lithium ion batteries. You do not want to drop them. There are no rubberized surfaces so the haves can be quite slippery. Having the lanyards make some easier to fish out and can prevent any accidental drops. I highly suggest you hitch the lanyards on.Overall I have found this OCOOPA UT4 hand warmer to be quite well made and well-designed. It is hands down the best OCOOPA product I have reviewed and is noticeably cheaper than both previous hand warmers I have tried from them. That said, as much as I like this pair of hand warmers Amazon is flooded with similar style hand warmers at similar prices or cheaper. This is a well executed device but one that isn't particularly innovative or unique. It doesn't really stand out from other options so it's by no means a must buy.

Not only are they cute, they work easily and get very warm
OCOOPA UT4 Rare Rechargeable Hand Warmers 2 PackThese little hand warmers do the trick. They come nicely packaged with a lanyard for each, USB-C charger, storage pouch and directions. The hand warmers are simple to charge, and do so quickly. Once charged, you long press a small button on the back side to turn on. Once on, press once for low heat, twice for medium and three times for high heat. All heat settings work great. The low heat is nice for different parts of the body. For example, I have put one of these hand warmers, on low heat, on my neck or in an area of my body that is sore. It is enough heat to penetrate the area without it becoming uncomfortable. The medium and high heat settings will work well for cold weather situations. On the low and medium settings, the heating element seems to have a kind of pulsing effect, meaning that I can feel it heat up, then the level of heat decreases but the warmer stays warm, then when it begins to cool it will heat again. It seems to be the way the warmer maintains the different heat settings. This is very much like a electric heating pad. On high it just remains warm without this pulsing effect. And the high setting is HOT. If using for cold weather, you could easily put the warmers on high and insert into a pocket and feel the warmth. Holding them on high becomes too warm for me.Overall these are great little warmers that work well and are nicely designed. They appear to be a quality product and have a variety of uses. Highly recommend!

Would elderly hands be able to manage this product, inserting wires, etc?

These get nice and toasty
The media could not be loaded. I have circulation problems and my extremities get really cold year round. I got these to put in my pockets to keep my fingers warm. These are surprisingly really cool. They are rechargeable, portable, light, and they can heat up well. They both have a charging port, type c. They function through a click and color system. So to power on or off, you push the little button on the bottom (black side) in a long press, Red means On. 1, 2, 3 dots are low, medium, high. You change the settings with a single click. You have to set each one, you don't need both to make them work, they don't "talk" to each other or anything. Blue is the battery life. To get to Blue you double click the button. 1, 2, or 3 blue dots will briefly show. 1 being near drained, 2 medium and 3 full battery power. They come with wrist straps, and charger cords, no usb-wall box. Heat only comes through the top part (purple side) the bottom doesn't get hot, so you don't have to worry about your clothes getting too hot. They do get really warm, just letting y'all know on the high setting. I won't give it to my kid to hold on the high setting, if it's been on a while. Medium or low would be better, I think for kids. I used an infrared thermometer that has the people and object options. Using the object sensing, using the high setting on the warmers, it gets really hot like 107 degrees, which isn't too hot for skin, just a precaution for kids. (there's a video showing the temperature) But the most coolest part I think is that on setting 3 dots (high setting) they lasted a little less than 2 and half hours, before running out of battery power. For that, they didn't like go down a step or slowly drain of power, when it was out of battery life to sustain the high setting, they just turned off. overall not bad for the price.

Fantastic little devices - they work brilliantly and are nicely made.
My elderly mother loves these - she keeps borrowing them when we’re out and about so I’m going to have to buy her some for herself. You may think differently, but I find them to be a very feminine design and colour - doesn’t really bother me, personally, I’m in touch with my feminine side 🙂These hand warmers seem really well made and feel like little plastic stones. They have what feels to be a metal side and this is the side that gets warm when they’re working. Operation is by a single button, long press for on and off and double press for battery indicator. Recharging is by USB C; cable included. You can use any USB C, but the cable supplied is a special one that enables you to charge both warmers at the same time from one socket. Recharging from flat takes a couple of hours. They also come with little wrist lanyards and a handy drawstring bag. Instructions are very concise and easy to understand. My elderly mother can use them, turn them on and off, adjust the temperature and check the battery. There’s three warmth settings and the hottest one is almost too hot to hold - probably works through gloves best. You can use them individually - one in each hand - or, by means of powerful magnets inside, they snuggle together to make one double sided hand warmer you can use in a hoodie front pocket or hand muff.We love these and they work brilliantly - I guess it’s down to advances in batteries and battery control electronics that has stopped something as brilliant as these from getting to market before now.

An essential for me during winter
I recently got these hand warmers set, and it has quickly become an essential item for me, especially during the colder months. The design is truly elegant with its diamond-inspired look, making it not only functional but also a stylish accessory. It feels smooth to the touch and has a vibrant appearance that stands out.One of the best features is its compact size; it fits perfectly in my palm and is lightweight, making it easy to carry in my makeup bag or small purse. The included lanyard is a nice touch, allowing me to attach it to my tote bag for easy access while on the go.The battery life is impressive, with three adjustable heat settings. I appreciate being able to choose the level of warmth I need—on the lowest setting, it lasts for about 5-7 hours, which is great for long outings. Even on the highest setting, it provides sufficient heat for a good amount of time.Durability is another plus; the UT4 Rare is IP34-rated, meaning it’s resistant to dust and splashes. This feature is especially helpful when I’m out and about, as I don’t have to worry about spills or weather conditions.Additionally, the ability to combine two hand warmers into a dual-sided warmer is a clever feature that allows me to share warmth with a friend or keep both hands warm simultaneously.Overall, I highly recommend the UT4 Rare hand warmer as a practical yet stylish solution for staying warm in chilly weather. It also makes a thoughtful gift for loved ones during the holidays or special occasions.

rechargeable hand warmers - nice design
I have a few pairs of rechargeable hand warmers but these are now my favourite, not because they work well but because I just love the look of them and using them makes me feel happy. They feel nice in the hands, ergonomic and smooth. They came with silicone wrist loops which can be attached to the hand warmers and a little pouch to keep them in as well as charging cables. As for function they charge at a reasonable pace, not very fast but not super slow either and the charge lasts a decent time although this depends what temp setting you have them on. They magnetise together so can be used as one hand warmer as you then have heat on both sides as it is only the metal area on the domed top that warms up. The heat is very erratic, you get a surge of heat and I find even on the lowest setting this can be too hot to keep hold of the hand warmers and then it cools down quite a bit then surges again, so by no means a constant heat. I find the lowest setting to be plenty and actually wish there was an even lower one. That said they are super useful and if like me you suffer with cold hands then these are a great little gadget that looks good too.

Feels good in the palm of your hand
This review is for the OCOOPA Hand Warmers Rechargeable 2 Pack. The 2000 mah hand warmers come with a 2-in-1 Charging Cable, Storage Pouch, 2 X Wrist Lanyard, and a Quick Start Guide. There are 3 heat settings. When fully charged, the seller claims 5 hours of use at low power and 3 hours at high setting. Low is 100-108F, Medium is 109-117F, and High is 118-125F. These times will be reduced in relation to colder outside temperatures. The hand warmers are turned on by a long press of the power button, and a short press will change it’s power setting. These same red leds will turn blue when the unit is being charged. 1 light is 30% charge, 2 lights indicate 70% charge, and 3 lights are 100% charge. The units are teardrop shaped and fit very comfortably in the palm of your hands. They have magnetic bottoms so they magnetically attach to each other. The soft fabric pouch is a nice accessory for keeping the hand warmers and charge cable together.I put one fully charged hand warmer on high, and put it hot side down on its pouch and timed how long it gave off heat. I was quite impressed at it lasting 3 hours and 55 minutes. The ambient temperature was 23C, so during use in cold weather, it will be somewhat less, but still pretty impressive for such a small unit to give off full heat for so long. I tried the same experiment with the other hand warmer set on low, and it lasted just over 7 hours. This was an equally impressive run time.I haven't used them in cold weather yet, but having used other similar sized hand warmers in the past, I am pretty sure these will be just fine during use. With a 30% off coupon being offered at the time of writing this, I feel this is good value for $28.
