Sapphire Technology Technology Radeon 11276-02-40G Pulse RX Vega 56 8GB HBM2 HDMI/Triple DP (UEFI) PCI-E Graphics Card

I upgraded from a Asus Strix Rx 580 which I had purchased for $290 ~1 year before purchasing the Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 for $300. I've had this card for about a month or so now and so far I'm very satisfied with it. It gave me a 30-40fps boost in pretty most of my games, and has allowed me to play more demanding games with the visual turned up without lagging. Undervolting/overclocking is easy to do and gets more performance from the card while keeping the power consumption down. Physically speaking, the card itself is actually a Vega 56 nano (note the position of the power connection) with a full length gpu heatsink attatched to it. However, because it's a nano the positioning of the power connection can be slightly awkward. I'm really not sure why they wouldn't include a picture of the back of the card on this page. The portion of the heatsink that extends past the card is not blocked so it functions similarly to a tower heatsink for the cpu. With this, temps are not a problem even when overclocking. There is a back light for the PULSE logo that doesn't... pulse. I do wish that it did, as that would really help to complete the card. It is also the only light on the card. The fans are nice and quiet. However, it should be noted that they turn into a Boeing 737 in your bedroom when they start spinning up to higher rpm (in my experience, ~2100+rpm, +/-100rpm). It has 1 HDMI port with 3 DisplayPorts, as well as a 8+8 pin power connection. The card takes up the usual 2 slots and you can still easily use any pcie slots below it. Recently I have had a couple of issues that did not occur to me when I had the Rx 580. Occasionally, I'll get screen flickering with slightly miscolored artifacting the shape of horizontal bars across the length of my monitors that is hard to notice. Once I had one monitor turn completely white, while the other turned black. I had to restart my pc to fix this. In general though, it doesn't happen enough to be of major annoyance and remains as a passing thought placed on the back burner.

To summarize the pros and cons Pros + Great gaming capabilities + easy to undervolt when following a guide + fairly quiet + Matches my build nicely + 2.5 slot card, fits even though I have a WiFi card and a sound card below it, no thermal issues either! + MASSIVE heatsink Cons - Wish the red Pulse logo would.... you know.... pulse red at least.... - PCB is for the Vega 56 nano, so some of the looks could be off-putting - Because the PCB is short, the two VGA power ports are in the middle of the card, hard to cable manage that - Heavy card, could cause sag in the future (planning on getting a GPU brace to hold up the right side of the card I've been gaming on this card for a few days now. So far, I've been very impressed. I have yet to try this in video editing, but I have a feeling it will really cut down render times and improve preview quality. Undervolting the card to keep the frequency up was super simple. I looked up a guide and downloaded his profile for Wattman and it runs very well. The fans aren't loud at all, and shut off when under a certain temperature. $319 was a steal for a card like this, and I was able to space out the purchases through Amazon! Only $64 a month for 5 months and NO interest?! I just had to take it. It was such a good price and the payment plan was amazing that I chose it over the RTX 2060 and 2070. For $300 dollars this is an absolute steal. I personally have worked with the GTX series and Rx cards from both NVIDIA and AMD, and the driver setups for AMD is so much nicer. The saphire Vega 56 is fast, quiet and has no coil whine!! And it's a cute little card! I paired it with a 750 watt PSU which works amazingly and I've never seen the temps go over 66c here on the Oregon coast. Pros: Fast, Relatively efficient (depending on which bios switch) HAS a bios switch! Quiet fan curve, Has a backplate, Faster than an rtx 2060, Uses AMD relive software which is miles nicer than nvidias Can pair to your phone! Is well future proofed with 8gb of hbm2 for higher resolutions. Cons: Power connection is located in the middle of the card, Logo is stuck red, Fans at Max are way too loud, though it'll automatically ramp up that much. Tldr: for $300 there isn't a better deal and with engines such dx12 and vulkan gaining traction the Vega 56 will age very well. Saphire makes awesome cards with great cooling and I look forward to using more of their cards.

I bought this card for my hackintosh, and it works and looks great! It does kick out a lot of that so you would want an airflow case. I limit the card by running with vertical sync on to cap it to the 60fps which makes it run cooler and quiet, but it doesn't get very loud even running hard as long as I ate the case fans spinning around 900rpm. Those are 180x180x38mm fans so there is a lot of air at 900. I picked it up when it was on sale for 300 it seemed fair, at 400 does seem overpriced. The card does feel of above average quality and is not just something thrown together. it also has some bling while keeping it classy. At 1440p it runs everything so far on max settings just fine. It was a significant upgrade over my RX580 and I think the price to performance was a little low but the build quality and design make it worth it. I think it ships with the dual bios in performance overclock mode, and I have not tried out the lower and quieter option. btw, in a hackintosh it has required nothing to get to work, the GPU temp shows 127f at all times but works great otherwise. There was some noise about the macOS controlling the fan but I haven't had a problem, the fan spins up fine under load like it should. The only negative is in the picture you can see the lowest part of the heatsink hangs below the CPU cooler and that is the hottest part of the heatsink by a large margin and it is pushed out in front of the CPU cooler!! not ideal but in practice has caused no issues. Ultimately the current ATX standard is simply not appropriate for modern hardware cooling.

Great card for the price. The Vega 56 wasn't a remarkable card upon release but since then the price has dropped and the drivers have been abundantly more supported, meaning the card has aged remarkably well. Positives: + Card is blazing fast (Star Wars Battlefront 2, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Monster Hunter World with Ultra HD Textures, Grand Theft Auto V, Resident Evil 2, The Division 2 all tested above 60 fps at 1080p Ultra with 200% internal resolution where possible) + Overclocked out of the box + Can be flashed with Vega 64 bios and undervolted to push performance even further ( I don't think I'll need to do this for a few more years) + Runs exceptionally cool for an AMD card. As I type this I am getting 45c Idle and 65c-70c in game, though mileage may vary slightly per card. + The fans are quiet, with headphones on I cannot hear them. Negatives: - The coil whine is rather loud when the card is under load - The PCI-e slots are right above the Pulse logo, making cable management annoying To make a short review shorter, this card is great if you wish to do above 60 fps at 1080p/144 Hz, 1440p at 60 fps, or 4K at 30 fps.

If you're building a machine for macOS or adding an eGPU, this is a good choice. I was on the fence between this and a RX 580. The price difference initially was around $150 but then this one dropped in price so I jumped on it. I'm not a gamer, don't process video or render 3D scenes but it's good to have the newest tech you can afford for longevity purposes. Starting with 10.14.5, the Vega reference cards have much better support. Fans are correctly controlled so things are nice and quiet. At idle, fans are off and no coil whine. Is silent. The only time they've come on at this point was during LuxMark tests. UPDATE: After some fiddling, if you're interested in overclocking, this might not be the GPU for you. I don't generally overclock, but I had some spare time so I started fiddling with the power tables. It seems my GPU can't break the 1GHz memory clock. 950MHz was the highest I could get it without a frozen screen and being logged out of my deskop. I've been told that if you can find a Vega 56 with Samsung memory modules you should be able to get it past the 1000MHz mark (with increased voltage; ~1.35). But, if the GPU uses Hynix (which I believe most Vega 56 cards shipped with), you're going to run into the ceiling at around 950. That said, I agree with another review; this is still a great deal at the $300 mark.

I bought the first one to mine with, but then I got a second one, and put them both into my gaming rig. In Crossfire Mode they kick @ss. I play ARPGs, Diablo II, III, Torchlight II, PoE and these cards tear all these titles up at 4K on the highest settings at 60Hz. Even a single one will handle 4k, if you kick back to medium settings. You can do full all day long on one @ 2k. The only issues I had were with the latest Blight version of PoE getting kind of jaggy under manic conditions. From what I have read, the devs have admitted it is a problem with their code, and so not likely the performance of the cards themselves. They can take a fairly healthy OC, even without BIOS modding. Can easily get 2000+H/s on Monero, and 40+Mh/s on ETH. I've noticed that other brand Vegas, 56s or 64s, will crash PoE easily with even a minor OC. I can run these at full mining OC and PoE still runs stable as heck. No crashes ever that I can remember. I have several other Vega 56s and RX580s laying around the house, from various manufacturers, and my experience is that Sapphire makes the best AMD cards. I have no qualms recommending these to anyone. Wasn't such a smart mining investment, but it sure pays for itself over and over as a gamer.

Purchased less than a year ago (July 2019), this card has already failed. I mean, this could be a once in a lifetime thing, and I got really unlucky, but it's something that has never happened with any of the other cards I've used, and not a very good first impression for AMD's side of graphics. I've recently contacted Sapphire to see what may have caused this, and if they do anything to make it all better, so we will see how that goes. I treat my computer like my baby; regular cleaning, off when not in use, etc.. It showed signs of dying about two weeks ago, but I replugged in the monitors and it started working again, so I was convinced momentarily that it was all okay, but I was wrong. I luckily had an older GPU around the house, and it works just fine. (ASUS Strix BTW) For the time I had the card, it was quiet, and it performed VERY well, but since it died so early, I believe that warrants a 1 star overall, and it's not very good value for my money to need to buy one every year for $300.00.

I got this card just several days ago, and there has been no problems whatsoever. I used DDU uninstaller for a complete removal of my previous RX 480 card drivers before doing a clean driver install with the official drivers from AMD. I was able to undervolt and overclock the Vega 56 via Radeon Wattman Settings and it is completely stable with the following settings: P6: 1567 MHZ / 1050 mV P7: 1652 MHZ / 1060 mV Mem: 940 MHZ with a 25% PW limit increase. My PC specs: Ryzen 1600x at 3.9 GHZ, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, EVGA Gold 850W power supply. In games, the core speed stays solid at 1605 to 1612 MHZ. Temperature never goes beyond 60-63 degrees C with the power consumption staying at 203-210W or below. I only noticed coil whine when benchmarking and when the frames goes really high (80-100 FPS), and even then it's not that noticeable with headphones or game volume up. Otherwise, the fans are REALLY quiet at 50% speed. Obviously, OCing and undervolting is only for the tech savvy users who know what they are doing. But even at stock settings or leaving the card at "Balance" profile in Wattman, it's really efficient and runs the core between 1490 to 1550 MHZ. It runs Witcher 3 at a rock solid 75 FPS all max settings on my LG 29" 2560x1080 resolution monitor. I limit my FPS to 75 FPS only since that is the upper Freesync limit of my monitor. My previous card, the Powercolor RX 480 was able to achieve 45 to 60 FPS on high/very high setting only. Needless to say, I'm really happy with the upgrade. The Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 currently goes for $300 USD, or $421 CAD at the time of my purchase through amazon.ca. If you buy it at this price it's amazing value since with a bit of tweaking, it surpasses the GTX 1070, and can get very close to a GTX 1080 and even a GTX 2060 in performance and can even surpass those in select game titles. Don't let anybody tell you different. If you have any basic knowledge in installing a video card, and doing the due diligence in installing it correctly (complete uninstall of all previous drivers, ensuring you have the minimum power requirement (750W decent power supply or so), then you should have no problems with the Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 and will have an amazing performing GPU. Obviously, if for any reason you have a bad card, then there is always the fantastic RMA process through Amazon or even Sapphire. My 2 cents.

Great card. Quite and powerful.

The Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 was great while it was working. And then fine day it just died. Black-screen. No response. Because I am located outside the USA in Australia, there is essentially no return warranty after 30 days. So now I have a multi-hundred dollar door-stop or paper-weight. Learned my lesson. Will never buy computer equipement internationally again.
