itched Ring for this — better camera, no subscription, zero regrets
We'd been using a Ring doorbell at our old apartment, so when we moved I started looking at what else was out there. Landed on the eufy E340 mainly because of the better camera and the fact that there's no monthly subscription required to actually use it — that alone made the decision easy.Setup and install were genuinely a breeze. I stuck it up with gorilla tape and had it connected to WiFi in a few minutes, no fuss. We're about two weeks in now, and the battery is still sitting at a full charge — which is honestly impressive, because the family in the unit across from us has kids who've been setting the motion detection off constantly while playing (we're talking somewhere around 40 times a day). Despite all that activity, the battery hasn't budged.Video and audio quality are both great — clear enough that we've had no trouble seeing or hearing exactly what's going on at the door.Only minor gripe: deleting videos from the app can take a bit longer than I'd expect. Not a dealbreaker, just a small annoyance.Overall, really happy with this over the Ring setup we had before. No subscription, solid battery life even under heavy motion-trigger load, and picture/sound quality that delivers. Would recommend.

Excellent Security Video Doorbell But Not Alexa Compatible
Eufy security cameras, including doorbells, are quite a step up from Ring. All features on Eufy cameras are fully accessible, without any fees and videos are stored locally. No privacy invasion. Storage can be upgraded, can be installed on the device itself or the homebase, videos stored can be shared if desired and are encrypted. The option to store in the cloud and for professional monitoring are available. I keep Eufy running in the background on my phone and notifications are instantaneous. With Ring, if anything was detected, it was gone, before I would get a notification. Only very basic features are available without fees with Ring and one is basically forced into paying for professional monitoring in order to get all the features. With Ring, I didn't install indoor cameras. The Eufy cameras far exceed Ring in features available and clarity/tracking of the camera events. Ring cameras would notify of squirrels, cats and flying plastic bags/leaves. Eufy has options for what one is wanting to detect. I have mine set for vehicles and humans. Not once have I received a notification or alarm for squirrels, cats or flying plastic bags/leaves. I have many of all around here. I am able with Eufy to have the cameras alarm, outside at the unit with sound and lights as well as a very audible alarm inside, when set to alarm mode. It works, as it did alarm one evening with good cause. Didn't have that with Ring nor would I have been confident with Ring only picking up a vehicle or human. Of course, you can manually set off the Eufy alarm also. The Eufy doorbell has not missed one person at the door, a package being dropped off or me picking the package up. With Ring, it was hit and miss with mostly miss. Another Eufy feature I very much like, is the option to tailor alarm modes, Home/Away/Off/Disarmed/Customized, down to each specific device/sensor. I am very impressed and satisfied with all the Eufy products I have purchased. It is advertised as being compatible with Alexa, but I disagree. The problem is not Eufy, but Alexa. I enabled the Eufy Security skill, but the echo devices would not announce Eufy notifications. It was a constant enable/disable/ re-enable/reboot to finally get an announcement. It was short lived and right back to enable/disable, etc. Seems to be a problem for many I noticed as I was troubleshooting on the internet. Very recently I received a notice from Alexa stating it had disabled the Eufy skill and directed me to re-enable. I wasn't able to do that as I would not grant Alexa permission to control my cameras. That's what that cab is all about. If I had a smart light bulb, it wouldn't be an issue. I bought the cameras for the privacy of local storage, and now Alexa wants to control those cameras, which means it has access to them. NO. They were advertised as Alexa compatible so the echo devices should be able to make Eufy announcements without the need for Alexa to have access to the cameras themselves. I don't want the echo devices to show me the view of the cameras, just make the Eufy announcements. It wouldn't even do that before, and now Alexa wants more permissions, to do what?? Alexa has gotten as bad as Ring. Putting those two aside, Eufy is an excellent security system on its own, all the way around. As for Alexa and its skills, no more Alexa compatible devices.

if it works its great
I think it's great product. I wanted one that had local storage to avoid paying subscription. The sub option is only in case you want to save in the cloud to access remotely. I have some connection issues but I think that's my personal problem because it's my door is a bit far from the router, so I don't think it's fair to give a bad rating because that's my case. I will look for a repeater or relocate the wifi router to cover mñbetter signal to the entrance. Overall I think it's great, it's super great that it comes with two batteries and even cables in case you want to wire. I'm using the batteries and I constantly check the battery % and its very good, it takes on avarsge 5% a day. Basically is not recording at all times, but when it detects movement it saves a clip of 20-30secs (customizable). So depending on the usage it's how fast it depletes. Overall is good and I plan on buying more eufy products for other security purposes-update. changing my review from 5 to 1. This doorbell camera, just stopped working, for no reason, out of nowhere, I did absolutely nothing. It started slowly, I noticed it was not capturing movement, but it was streaming correctly all OK I had a few days where it had "no events", I thought "well maybe there's just not movement at all", then one day randomly it says "offline", I thought someone mightve stolen it, when I brought it inside it was just not being detected by the app, it was offline, though the button of the ring kept working, and it made sounds as if it was still working but it was just not being detected. I tried everything, rebooting, replacing the battery, re-install everything, rebooting to factory setting but no, it stopped detecting my wifi, I couldnt sync to any wifi anymore, so I just returned while I was still within my 30 day purchase, (I had it for 3 weeks max). So, I do believe this thing is an OK product... when it works. But Not sure if I would trust to purchase this again.

Excellent dual-camera doorbell with impressive clarity!
This eufy E340 kit is an outstanding video doorbell. The dual-camera setup is a game-changer—having one camera for face-level view and a second camera pointing down completely eliminates blind spots and lets you see packages clearly at your doorstep.Highlights:Crisp Image Quality: The 2K FHD resolution delivers sharp, clear video during the day and excellent night vision.Smart & Fast Detection: Motion tracking is fast and accurate, capturing events instantly without missing key moments.Built-in Storage & Removable Battery: Having built-in 8GB storage is great for local recording right out of the box without hidden fees, and the removable battery makes recharging super convenient. If you are looking for a reliable, feature-packed doorbell with great clarity and zero fuss, this one is worth every penny!

Nice product, but good luck if you need help on it
Overall I like this doorbell. My previous video doorbell died and I wanted a replacement that did not require a subscription to do anything worthwhile with it. This doorbell fits the bill. It can store the video directly on the doorbell if you do not have a homebase. It can store the videos on and SD card if you have the chime set to be a mini homebase. Or you can have it go to an actual homebase. No subscription is needed to be able to see the saved clips or to interact with the doorbell. The video quality is massively better than the doorbell I bought back in 2016. Plus it has two cameras so I can actually see the porch near the door. It does take more power to run all that. Some people said that the batteries were only good for a week. I find that mine are lasting about 3 weeks. I have two batteries so swapping is easy.My only problem is that it did not come with the little pin to release the doorbell from the holder. This is not a major issue since there are replacements or you can use a paperclip or straight pin to pop it. The AI solution was to buy a set of the pins. My only other option would have been to have returned the entire thing and then ordered it again just to get a pin. This is why they lost a star on what would have been a 5 star review.

Eufy Doorbell “at rest” and “activated,” angle mount; Awful Battery Life
TL;DR ... this doorbell is power flexible, uses AI effectively, has an attractive build/design, is easy to set up, and uses two good-quality cameras (in day or night).More useful details...Out of the box, this Eufy Doorbell can be installed to use its built-in battery or can be wired directly to your home. Nice.Installation, mounting, and app set up were all straightforward; took about 10 minutes. The hardest part was deciding where, and how high, to place the doorbell! (Eufy does suggest placement but YMMV.)The box came with everything you need, including a template decal that made placing and drilling a breeze; nice touch. The app is a bit clunky (dated?) but works well. Notifications to my phone have been instant. The doorbell itself has a built-in speaker; the doorbell "ding" is very loud and clear. (Another nice feature is that I will hear the doorbell ding in my AirPods if I'm wearing them.)The doorbell has two cameras, so I clearly see both the surrounding area AND the entire floor around my porch. I really like this feature.Visibility at night is good too.Setting detection zones is not intuitive but not hard to figure out. The doorbell can see VERY far in clear sunlight. Before setting up a zone, the camera flagged me at around 45 feet away.AI recognition is eerily accurate (a good thing) ... doorbell can identify animals, people, and packages. It will let you know if someone arrives, puts down a package, or picks up a package. So far, it has not misidentified anything. I haven't set up facial recognition yet; this will let the doorbell know if the person at the door is known/unknown. (Sounds like fun.)Battery: shows 4 out of 5 bars after 2 1/2 weeks of use; unfortunately, there is no percentage. (DO BETTER Eufy.)After 30 days of use (exactly), got a message from the app that the doorbell shut down due to low battery. BATTERY ONLY LAST 30 DAYS! Settings were left at default. :-(Doorbell works with the original Eufy HomeBase and HomeBase 2. The doorbell also works with Alexa and Google Assistant. I haven't use these features so don't know how well they work, or if a hub is required. No HomeKit support at this time (Again, DO BETTER Eufy!)btw ... you can always set up Homebridge or Hoobs to connect this Eufy doorbell to Apple's HomeKit; requires a bit more technical expertise.

Excellent Video Doorbell!
I’ve been very happy with this Eufy Video Doorbell E340 Kit. The video quality is clear day and night, and the dual cameras provide a great view of both visitors and packages. Motion detection is fast and accurate, and the battery life has been excellent. I also like that there are no monthly subscription fees for local storage. The app is easy to use, and setup was straightforward. Overall, it’s a reliable and high-quality smart doorbell. I highly recommend it!

A definite downgrade from the S330 doorbell camera
I had the S330 dual camera doorbell at my front door for almost 2 years, but the battery suddenly died the last time I tried to recharge it. Aside from the inconvenience of needing to remove the doorbell completely to recharge it for 6 hours at a time, it was a great home security product that reliably captured all activity on the porch and out into the front yard and driveway. Motion detection was very effective, and range and sensitivity were configurable to pick up movement in the area of interest without catching everything out into the street. I was sad to see it go, but unfortunately, there is no replacement battery available to fix it.So I checked Amazon to order another S330, only to find this new E340 model that looked to be its successor. All of the same basic features are listed, with the addition of a color night vision capability. Knowing how infrared cameras work, I was immediately skeptical of this claim, and I did check reviews that revealed it is really just shining a bright LED light on the subject, and not using night vision at all. I find it very misleading how Eufy advertises that, but I needed a replacement doorbell in their ecosystem, and this seemed to be an updated version of what I had, so I went ahead and ordered it.The mounting bracket isn't compatible between the S330 and E340, so I had to swap in the new one, but at least the hole pattern is the same so I could simply reuse the screws without any drilling. Pairing the doorbell with the home base is straightforward and I had it installed in a matter of 5 minutes. Then I go into the settings to set up motion detection, and immediately notice there is little in the way of customization you can do. Basically a sensitivity slider, a way to set zones, and a toggle between "human only" and "all motion", but no means to set the effective range of detection. I experimented with the sensitivity, finding that I needed the maximum setting for it to pick me up from the desired distance where people usually walk up towards my door. I set detection to "all motion" initially, messed around with the other settings a bit, and declared it a successful installation.Over the next few hours, I kept getting notified every time a car drove by on the street in front of my house, which is a good 40 feet from the doorbell. So I changed the detection setting to "human only", which fixed the issue at the time, but when it got dark, it started picking up cars and notifying me again; it's worth noting that for the "human only" mode, the app does state that it will still alert on any motion during nighttime. The detection range issue reveals that an important feature of the S330 is missing from the E340: radar detection. The S330 uses a combination of passive infrared and what Eufy terms "radar", an active mechanism to detect objects moving in the field of view without relying on thermal signals (whether it is in fact radio frequency as opposed to ultrasound, I don't know, but I doubt it). This also provides a way to effectively limit the range of motion detection, so it is not picking up distant objects of no interest to your home security. The E340 does not have this feature, and if you look at Eufy's website, while they don't call this out prominently, it is actually listed in a feature comparison table between the two doorbell models. This is why the motion detection settings are much more limited on the E340 than on the S330, and I think it may be using vision to supplement PIR, based on the very long range at which it is detecting cars passing by.Aside from the motion detection issue, the E340 seems to perform pretty much identically to the S330. I see no difference in the video streaming quality, nor how promptly recording starts when motion is detected, despite some of the claims I've read online that the E340 is somehow better in this regard. Beyond that, it's a doorbell, and the audio recording and speaker aren't improved in any way that I can tell. There is a "4 second pre-record" setting that might capture video ahead of detection, but it can only be enabled if the doorbell is wired to power, which mine isn't. The app won't even let me turn it on to test it out.The one advantage the E340 does have over the S330 is the removable battery. If the S330 had that, I wouldn't have needed to replace my doorbell in the first place - I would have just bought a new battery. For my use case, this is an obvious downgrade from Eufy's previous dual-camera doorbell. I'm glad they continue to make the S330, as I'll be buying another one for my front door. I think I'll put the E340 on the back of the house, where it can cover motion in the backyard.

Clear 2K Video, Smart Features, and Convenient No-Fee Security Upgrade
I installed the eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 mainly for better front door monitoring, and it’s been a solid upgrade from my previous doorbell camera. The 2K video quality is sharp enough to clearly see faces and packages, even when zoomed in.The dual camera setup is a nice feature, it helps reduce blind spots, especially for packages left right at the doorstep. Night vision in color is also better than expected and makes it easier to identify people after dark.Battery life has been reliable so far, and having the extra rechargeable battery pack is really convenient. The quick-release design makes swapping batteries fast without taking the whole unit off. Setup was straightforward through the app, and notifications come through quickly. Not having a monthly fee is a big plus. Overall, it feels like a well-thought-out system that balances features, ease of use, and cost.

Decent Camera for the cost
Decent doorbell camera. Depends what you’re really looking for. I’ll give a few pros and cons -Pros : 1. Excellent response time to visitors, our previous camera only gave us clips of people walking away. You can clearly see the person walking up to the camera.2. Built in 8GB Hard drive is nice, don’t have to worry about SD cards.3. The extra battery pack being included is a plus, they last about 3-4 weeks so at least you can always have one charged and ready to swap out.Cons: 1. No continuous loop recording, if you want to go back and watch a period of time to see if any events or people were missed, you don’t have this option.2. Although I added the included battery pack as a pro, they do die very fast, so some would see this as an annoyance and a con.3. No external way to plug in the battery in place if you just wanted to charge it in its spot, you have to remove the whole camera to then get the battery pack off to charge/replace it.Overall it has great quality of video and an amazing response time. It does have the option to be hardwired (which eliminates all comments about the battery life/issues if you choose this route) so all in all, it is a good option and reasonable priced when you catch it on sale.
