Got this for our old GE prolife dbl oven. This was the 2nd one we have had to replace. What I liked best about this one is that it is slightly deeper than the original one or the last replacement, meaning that is comes closer to the oven door, covering more area. I don't have to spin a pan around like in the past for even cooking. Easy to install. 100% compatible.

When the element in our 16 year old GE range went out, I looked at a lot of replacement elements that vary widely in price. This one had the same shape as the old one, so I figured it was worth a try forthe price. It was easy to install (just watch the YouTube videos) and it works perfectly. If anything it may be a little faster to heat up than the old one, although that may have been age related. Remember that the temperature is regulated by a thermostat - not the element, so don't worry about temps changing in your oven. We have noticed no changes when baking, and we just used the self-cleaning function. The element did fine. It seems there is no reason to pay more when this works so well!

Good replacement.

Purchased this replacement part for my stove when the old bake element shorted out spectacularly. We inherited the stove when we bought the house, so there's no knowing how old it was. The install was relatively easy but ended up being a two person job - we did end up having to pull the stove out and remove the back plate to swap out the elements due to how short the wires were. Much easier to swap the connectors from the back of the stove versus messing around with the insulation and wiring through the front. Also much easier to have two people to slide the stove out, and help line up the connectors and backplate when they're being reinstalled. After we put everything back together, we tested it and it heats up! The element did give off a smell, as is expected with a new part, but should dissipate with use. Hopefully this part lasts a long time! I'll update if anything changes but for now, I'm impressed that it only took $30 and a hour of my day to fix, versus spending $200+ for a service call.

Works well

The element was the exact match to what I needed. It arrived about 2 to 3 weeks earlier than expected and was very easy to install. There were no instructions on how to install the new element, I went to the University of YouTube. It was very easy for this 57 year old woman to do, took all of 15 minutes to remove and install the element.

Well packaged exact replacement. It is an easy install, in some oven it can be done from the front only in others, you'll have to pull the appliance to wire from the back. Either way, with the right tools it is less than 30 minutes. You'll need a light source and a 1/4 inch nut driver. -turn off the breaker -empty your oven -remove the two screws in the back holding the element in place -slightly pull on it and see if you can expose the eyes connectors. If so replace the element, put the two screws back, run the breaker on and turn on the oven. -If you can't see the connector, pull the oven off the wall -pull the plug -remove the back panel(s), undo the connector for the element, go back to the front and screw the wiring in place -go back to the back, do the connection -close the back and continued with testing as above
