Superb value for this connector set
Have a 7.1 system so needed plenty of cable plugs (28 to be precise!), and this set of 24 allowed me to wire up all the connections at the amplifier (14) and five of the speakers at the speaker ends (10), just leaving the rear surrounds with my old plugs attached. The quality of the plugs is excellent. What makes them so different to other plugs I have used in the past is threefold: 1) They have double grub screws to attach the cable in the plug......single screws notoriously come loose and I've had to refit single screw plugs many times to my speakers, especially after they have been moved about a bit. 2) The outer casing screws off the plug section completely, making it a piece of cake to wire them, and leaves a very tidy finish to the plug. 3) The actual size of the plug is much larger/fuller than plugs I've had before. In fact they are 50% larger than the ones i just replaced. That doesn't mean they are over-sized, but rather the plugs really have to be pushed firmly into the speaker posts to get them in, meaning the connection must be very very good, and highly unlikely they will ever come out of the posts when moving speakers about. Brilliant set of plugs for the price.

Sewell Silverback Banana Speaker Plugs from Amazon
Sewell Banana plugs from Amazon. A well made metal product at a good price helping to make neater speaker wiring for at least 2 x 5-1 surround sound installation from one set. These plugs enable quicker re-positioning of the speaker picture without the hassle of fiddling round the back of amplifiers attaching bare wires to different sound out posts, great. Once the Sewells are attached to each speaker lead with 2 screws for added security, just pull them out and push them in to another position. Once you are happy with the sound set up you may never have to touch them again, but can sit back and feel happy that tight fitting plugs are always giving the best contact for your speaker signals. With all the components available now being attached to ever more comprehensive amplifiers, being able to need only a light and a mirror to see the back of even a tight space installed system to make any speaker moves, one use alone has paid back the outlay in my view. The rest is all free. If the back of the amplifier is in view at all times you get the added bonus of a good professional looking installation. Add some small gauge cable tidy and the spiders have even less of a playground for you to hoover around.

Impressed
I was looking for banana plugs to BiWire my amp and speakers using QED SA XT BiWire cable. Being too tight to pay the £10 per QED Airloc (discounted price!!) I decided to try the Sewell product. My experience is that they are an excellent product. I over tightened one grub screw and stripped the thread on a single plug, but as I had six pairs spare this was no great loss. The hole to take the speaker cable is large enough to take two QED wires if you remove each wire's plastic core (needed on the amp connection as only one set of speaker posts). If only one speaker wire needs to be attached the hole is generous, but the two grub screws tighten down securely, compressing the cable and plastic core, ensuring a good contact. The banana plugs are a snug fit in the amp (Denon) and speaker (Mordaunt-Short) posts, but that's what you want for a good connection. All in all an excellent product. I can't tell the difference between the sound quality of the system with bare wire connections or the Sewell banana plugs (as I would expect) and the whole thing looks a lot neater. I'm also sure that would have been the same case if I had paid for QED Airloc banana plugs to be fitted, but that would have cost £110 more. Off to fit remaining plugs to a friend's system.

Quality product, but one of the plugs was broken
Excellent product and really easy to use. Using good quality cable resulted in a secure grip in the plug. No problems plugging into the amp, although I did expect the plug to go 'all the way in' - but perhaps this is more to do with the amp than the plugs. Only downside was that one of the black plugs was broken. The plug works by removing a screwed sheath to reveal the screws inside which hold the cable in place. Once the cable is inserted, the sheath is then screwed back over the top. On the second plug I pulled out of the pack, the actual 'banana' part (as well as a 'pin' inside) came away from the body of the plug. I'm sure this can be pushed back in, however, it is a tight squeeze, and as I only really needed 5 pairs (currently), the broken one remains in the pack with it's sister 'good spare'. This was the only downside, and if I did require all 6 (which is what was paid for), then I would be miffed, however, as I had a job to do over the weekend, it met my needs just fine. I am not going to send the whole pack back (and undo all the work), just for this plug (unless of course the suppliers would like to send me a replacement spare... to get this up to a 5 star review). Delivery was also exceptionally quick - so this added a 'star' as well.

Quality Good Value Plugs
My current set up has richer sounds/gale banana plugs (purchased donkeys years ago when building my first system). As these have tended to get a bit loose (you have to bend out the flutes to get a tighter fit) I decided I would try these Sewell plugs and I have to agree with other reviewers here and say they are a great quality at a good price. They give a lovely tidy finish and a tight fit into the binding posts (they are slightly larger than my current plugs). My centre speaker is biwired (4 plugs at speaker end and 2 at the amp end) and the only slight problem I had was the thickness of my cable talk speaker cable made it a bit difficult to get 2 wires into one plug and screw the little screws down enough to get the barrel over, although I did manage it. Would be no problem with a thinner cable though for biwiring. Would highly recommend these plugs to anyone.

Ok banana plugs but a bit fiddly. Price is low. Quality decent.
These banana plugs are decently built, however I found that connecting them to the wires is time consuming and fiddly because they are attached by small screws. When attacking several wires having to adjust all these small screws becomes time consuming and a pain. The plugs are OK for small jobs, but when attaching several wires patience runs out. Aside from that complaint, the plugs are cheap and represents a nice value for the money. Quality is fine and made out of metal.

Cheap But Very High Quality Plugs!
I wanted some banana plugs for my Yamaha 1010 AV Receiver, i have 7 speakers but only needed enough to cover 5 sets of speaker, 2 of my speakers can't use these plugs, i looked at various other brands, most looked cheap and nasty, these ones seemed higher quality going by the image on Amazon, i am pleased to say that when they arrived i found they are indeed as good as the picture suggests. I was able to put these on the speakers and AV end and still have some spare, now i was lucky that 2 speakers could not take banana plugs, i will give light criticism and say that they should consider supplying 14 pairs as that would cover a 7 speaker setup very well, i won't knock a star off though as they are worth 5 stars for the price, excellent product, having dual screws makes them extremely effective, some brands are trying to sell banana plugs at ridiculous prices, this one is well worth the cash and i heartily recommend them.

Easy smart looking connections
The big benefit of Banana plugs is how they make it easier to connect everything up to your amplifier. No fiddling around with screw threads; you can just push the connector in. The ease of connecting to your hifi comes at the price of a little bit of setup; in that regard the Sewell banana plugs are very easy to connect to your cables; the outer sheath unscrews revealing the gold plated plug itself. Two smaller screws then hold the wire in place; once they are tightened back up you can screw the outer case back on. These are no solder connections which means you can use them over and over; they look able to take a pretty hefty gauge of cable too; I am using about 3mm diameter speaker cable at the moment and this fit with some room to spare (though much thicker and the retaining screws would be an issue. Once you have wired it all up connecting the 9 speakers to my AV Amp became a question of plug and play; and all the wires point straight out so it looks much tidier too. The Sewell plugs are great value for money and to my ears sound as good as the bare wire connections I was using before. Its a bit of a chore setting all the cabling up but once its done its much cleaner at the back of your amplifier.

Me siento estafado. Recomendado solo para quienes tirar su dinero.
