Great balance of feel and protection
I am very particular about my cellphone case - I only get a new one every few years so I do a lot of research into trying to get it right. My biggest care about is the grip and feel. I have had, and would have a pure silicon case if it were not for the trouble getting it in and out of my pocket, gathering lint, etc. It seems like all other cases are far too slick so I have been looking for a case with just the right amount of rubbery grip but not to much. After trying 4 other cases, this is that case. Has just the right balance of grip but still goes in and out of pockets easy, and of course good protection for the phone. For what it is worth, the Otterbox Defender series had about the same great balance of feel/grip, but at over twice the price so I went with this one for the value.

"A Stylish and Grippy Case"
I recently got the Speck iPhone 16 Pro Max Case in the CandyShell Grip design (Blue/Faded Denim) for my new phone, and it’s been a solid protector overall. This case promises a secure grip and decent drop protection for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and it mostly delivers on that front.Quality and Build:The case feels well-made, with a dual-layer design that combines a hard outer shell with a softer inner lining for shock absorption. The Blue/Faded Denim color scheme looks sleek, and the textured grip strips on the sides add a nice tactile feel. It fits my iPhone 16 Pro Max snugly, with precise cutouts for the buttons, ports, and camera. The build quality is impressive, though the glossy finish does attract some fingerprints.Performance:The grip is the standout feature here—it’s easy to hold, even with one hand, thanks to the raised rubber strips. I’ve dropped my phone a couple of times from low heights (about 3 feet), and the case protected it without a scratch. The buttons are responsive, and the case adds just enough bulk to feel protective without being cumbersome. It’s been great for daily use, keeping my phone safe from scuffs and minor bumps.Value for Money:For the price, this Speck case is a good deal. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but you’re paying for a trusted brand with a solid track record for protection. If you’re looking for a stylish, grippy case for your iPhone 16 Pro Max, this offers great value compared to other premium cases.Overall:The Speck iPhone 16 Pro Max CandyShell Grip Case is a reliable, stylish choice for protecting my phone, with excellent grip and decent drop protection. The slickness is a minor annoyance, but it doesn’t overshadow the overall quality. I’m happy with its performance and design—5 stars for functionality and style!

Burly case, feels good
This is a burly case that feels good in the hand. It is not grippy like silicon, but it has ridges and has enough texture to not feel slippery to me. It's not too heavy, but is substantial. Have always liked Speck cases. This color, white, quickly gets 'dirty' but that has not been an issue for me as I expected it would. Others might prefer a different color for that reason.I've noticed that a magnetic attachment I use is slightly less strong due to case thickness; but mag charging works fine.

Do NOT purchase! Not the same quality they used to be
I had Speck cases on both of our old phones that were still in great condition after 5 years of use, so when we upgraded our phones in April, 2025, I bought new Speck cases for them. This is a picture of my case after 43 days of use. Instead of being blue, it now has green discoloration all over it. The phone and case have never gotten wet or been dropped, have only ever been in my pants pocket or on my desk at work or nightstand at home. I submitted a warranty claim to Speck and they denied it saying that stains and discoloration are considered normal wear and tear and are not covered by their warranty. If the case was 5 years old I could accept their claim that it was normal wear and tear... But a 43 day old case that is owned by a 67 year old woman who has never mistreated it and only had it in her pants pocket or on her desk at work... that is not normal wear and tear. When I upgraded my phone it never ocurred to me to get a different brand of case because I have had such good luck with Speck cases, but obviously they have changed something in the production of these cases and they are not the same quality they used to be. And the fact that they will not stand behind their products with their warranty is disturbing.Apparently I need to find a different brand of cases that is better quality and stands behind their products.

Miss the previous generations
I used a Speck case on my iPhone 11 for 5 years. It worked wonderfully so when I upgraded, getting another Speck case was the obvious choice. However, I’ll echo a few complaints I have:1. RUBBER GRIPS WHERE ARE YOU! This was my favorite part of the old case. And based on other reviews I know I’m not alone so I don’t know why they moved away from this feature.2. I don’t know if my camera is actually protected… feels sus3. Why is there nothing over the new quick camera button? It literally feels like the just forgot or the case is unfinished.I’ve only had it a couple of days so can’t speak to whether or not the durability is the same but I’ll update if needed!

Great case for someone who drops things a lot.
I had a Speck case for my previous iphone, and it was still in mint condition even without a screen protector. I upgraded phones, and this new case is great too. It's missing the rubbery grippy lines that filled in the ridges, as some have commented. Even without that, the ridges on this grip well. I drop things a lot, and this phone is bigger and heavier. I feel this will protect my investment.I wish it hugged the camera lenses a little closer. Unlike the SE, the lenses on the new iphone are raised quite a bit.I love Speck cases.
