Vet recommend
When my vet started prescribing home cooked meal for my dog she also recommended to give this mineral alongside my dog’s other supplements. So far so good. I will stop until vet say stop otherwise product helped my dog get the nutrients he needs while on home cooked diet.

Picky and judgmental GSD gives 2 paws up!
I told my GSD Mike that when I got my finances sorted out, the quality of MY nutrition would improve and so would HIS. True to my word, I’ve been making his food for about a month now and put a lot of effort into calculating nutrition values for the recipes I make for him. He’s my BFF, so I don’t want to mess it up! With a varied diet (I change the recipes so he’s not eating the same thing week in and week out, to try to cover any nutritional deficiencies any particular “batch” may have,) I know I’m covering macros, but it’s the micros I got concerned about, especially with a senior GSD. Which is where Canine Minerals has enters the chat.Canine Minerals has a very mild odor to MY nose (when i shoved my nose in the jar, that’s how mild it is) and not unpleasant at all, according to Mike. At 30,000x my nose, I’d recommend you go with Mike’s nose. For his weight, it was recommended 3-5 scoops (included). I measured the scoop and it’s about a teaspoon per scoop. I tasted a bit of Canine Minerals (hey, if I’m going to feed it to my dog, it had better be safe for me to at least taste on the tip of my tongue) and found it without taste, with a tiny gritty texture. I sprinkled Canine Minerals on TOP of Mike’s food to see how he felt about it (I’m not above mixing things in or “hiding” them, but I wanted to know if it was actually necessary), he LICKED the powder off the top of his food and then ate the rest. So, again, I’d trust my dog’s taste buds over mine, and his said “no problemo.”So far, I haven’t noticed any difference in my dog’s hair, nails, poop, gas, activity level, or behaviors… which is fine by me, they were all good to begin with. I am all over the supplements (glucosamine chondroitin, salmon oil, and a multi vitamin), his weight is a steady 76-78 pounds and I’m confident that I’m doing the best I can, with a reasonable amount of thought, effort, and care. This supplement seems like a good fit with making my own dog food and it covers the minerals I haven’t already been supplementing. If you’re making food or supplementing with homemade food, I’d recommend giving this product a look. Also, tell your dog I said HI!

The ingredient list is impressive.
I had been searching for a good quality mineral supplement for my dog, and was impressed with the ingredient list - all essential supplements for a dog. I mix this in with my dog's "human-grade" dog food, and he either loves it or doesn't mind the taste. Either way, there are no objections from him.
