How do I let the clock know that it's night time?, because it keeps chiming at night but not at day...

It sounds like sleep mode is reversed. (Maybe pm and am reversed?) I don’t have the instructions with me, since this was purchased for my parents. When we set it up, we followed the instructions and it works fine for them. Sorry that I cannot be of help.
