Must for drivers on the interstate
This works so well it’s accurate it warns me from miles and miles away with there’s a cop coming. I was not able to mount it in my car with the piece that it came with so I bought the separate thing and it just sits on my dash I bought a piece of rubber and it just sits on there and it stays fine but I drive the freeway multiple days a week to go to school and I had to have this and it works great if you drive the interstate and need to be watching out for police or anything this is great

Cobra RAD 390 Laser Radar Detector
This Cobra RAD 390 Laser Radar Detector is the base model of what is currently cobra's three tiers of laser radar detectors. These are often referred to as beep boxes. However, this newer model, it allows you to tailor your radar detector to your liking with adjustable sensitivity and filtering modes to control how many notifications you receive while on the go. Toggle extreme mode for no-compromises coverage and range. These newer models feature next generation updateable IVT Filter and advanced anti-falsing circuitry intelligently reduces false alerts from blind spot systems and other vehicle avoidance systems. Take advantage of ongoing firmware updates to provide software support for improved longevity, keeping your detector up to date. Cobra’s new LaserEye technology detects laser signals from both the front and rear of your vehicle, giving you all around protection wherever your adventures take you. So as you can see, even their base model, it's not what they used to be. These aren't just beep boxes anymore, not to mention the volume control, you don't even need volume with this unit. You can actually just see what type of radar is being detected by the letters. And numbers that appear. That being said, there are some features. This one doesn't have that some of the better offerings from cobra du, but I won't get into that. Because I'm reviewing this product and not those. But I would personally for the money. Recommend checking those out, the 490i and the 700i are certainly better offerings, but you know, they do cost more, so it's teach his own. This is a perfectly adequate unit. I'm very happy with it as a Vine voice. I got a significant discount on it. Hi especially liked that it came with several mounting options like the secure adhesive mount with detachable bracket and adjustable angle for best visibility. The Cobra RAD 390 radar detector comes with a USB-C power cord, USB-C to cigarette lighter adapter, and adhesive windshield mount with static cling film for easy installation. All in all, as I mentioned this thing. Functions, as advertised seems to be made of a quality material and we'll likely last a very long time.

Doesn't detect cops well at all
Cons: - beeps for no reason 60% of the time - I went past several cops with extreme mode on and it didn't beep at all - didn't perform how I thought it would Pros: - senses speed cameras VERY well but only once you get within 300ft - only sometimes actually detects cops with maybe 2 beeps if youre lucky - very easy setup, took me less than a min Overall I would spend your money on something a little more expensive to get much better performance, as I was very annoyed when I was across the street from a police car and it didn't beep AT ALL. I will be returning it and getting a better model or just a different brand

Easy to use
This detector is a great choice for drivers who want dependable radar and laser awareness without paying for a lot of unnecessary extras. Its adjustable sensitivity lets you tailor alerts to different driving conditions, while the long-range detection gives you more time to respond to radar signals on the road. The LaserEye front and rear detection is also a useful feature, adding coverage from both directions. The display is bright, simple, and easy to read quickly while driving. I like that the settings are straightforward to adjust, including the sensitivity and alert volume. The next generation filtering and advanced DSP help reduce unwanted alerts from vehicle safety systems, which helps keep the noise level more manageable during regular driving. For the price, it offers very good value for the money. The overall quality feels solid for an entry level detector, and the ability to update the firmware helps it stay useful as driving technology changes. If you want an easy-to-use radar detector with good range, a clear display, useful filtering, and adjustable settings, this is a strong option.

Cobra RAD 390 Radar Detector: Front/Rear LaserEye, USB Power & Great Long-Range Value!
I like this Cobra RAD 390 a whole lot better than my old Uniden unit. It delivers impressive long-range detection right out of the box, feels like a solid, well-built brand name unit from Cobra, and gives you total peace of mind out on the road. One of the standout features is having the LaserEye front and rear laser coverage. Knowing you have 360-degree protection against LiDAR coming from ahead or behind makes a huge difference. The customizable band settings are another major plus. It lets you easily toggle specific bands on or off depending on where you drive. For instance, X band is typically just grocery store automatic doors or security systems, whereas Ka band is what law enforcement is actually running. Out here in Utah, police radar detector detectors and obscure bands are very uncommon, so being able to shut off the extra bands keeps false alerts completely down while keeping Ka and Laser front and center. Daily usability is super simple and well thought out. The dedicated mute button is awesome so you don't have to sit there listening to loud, repetitive beeps once you've already noticed the alert. Powering it up is also really convenient. Instead of being stuck with those annoying, bulky old-school 12-volt systems, this setup uses a USB connection so you can plug right into the USB ports built into most modern cars, though it still comes with a 12V plug if you prefer to use that. It includes everything you need in the box whether you want to stick it to your windshield or set up a more permanent mount on your dash. It is easy to install, simple to configure, quiet when you need it to be, and delivers fantastic value for your money. If you are looking for a dependable, customizable, and high-performance radar detector, I definitely recommend picking up the Cobra RAD 390!
