I never experienced the height differences in boards. This one will go pretty high and I find it much more comfortable to iron at the higher level. I'm only 5'1", so anyone taller must suffer with lower level ironing boards. It's something I never took into consideration until now. It's a larger size so I don't really consider it light weight. There are rubber holders on the legs to keep it stable on smooth floors, so if you use it on carpet, like I do, you sort of have to give it a lift in order to move it, which works for me because I'm not moving it very often. I highly recommend this ironing board.
