Yes it has a Bulb exposure mode. This keeps the shutter open for as long as you want. See page 98 of the manual. You will need a cable release, they are very cheap around £5.

How do you transfer images from this camera to a Samsung Chromebook? (bear in mind I can't install software on this laptop) Is there a USB cable? Thx

You need software through the Chrome apps then you can put the card in the side slot it as the same as you get in Boots

With this camera can you change the depth of field, aperture and shutter speed? And is it recommended to a beginner with limited camera knowledge?

This is a very good camera for a beginner,it has all the stuff a pro uses but at a good price.It saves you having to change to a more expensive camera as you improve.
