The four viewliner cars, the baggage-dormitory car, dining car, 2 sleeping cars are highly detailed to show the corrugated side panels, are painted in the phase 3 style, equal width red-white-blue stripes on the car window band. The passenger car trucks are equipped with Kato's knuckle couplers. The cars are packed in Kato's foam lined, vinyl covered bookshelf case. The foam in the case has 4 cutouts for additional cars or locomotives. The included information sheet shows two different Amtrak train consists that use these cars and the locomotives that pull the consists. Good value, high quality.

Each type of car is different with different door designs and details.

A good set. The bogeys are soft-ish plastic, so the wheels might fall out when you are placing them on the track. Handle with care… They are lightweight, but tall, so think ‘center of gravity’ when setting up your train. On a curve, they can derail.

N scale being a real small gauge in model railroads, these cars have great detail in replicating Amtraks cars that run today. Great addition to N scale. Cars comes in a padded case.
