Huge heat retention boost and noticeable energy savings
Wow—these really work. Before using these inflatable solar pool covers, my pool heater had to run nearly all day just to get the water up to my target temperature of 88°F. Since adding these to the pool at night, they do an excellent job of keeping the heat in as temperatures drop. Now my heater only needs to run for a few hours each morning to bring the pool back up to temp, and after that, the sun plus these covers take care of the rest. The difference in heat retention is immediate and obvious. If you’re trying to reduce heater run time, energy costs, or wear and tear on your pool equipment, these make a big impact—especially when used in combination with a pool heater pump. My only downside was that 2 of the 12 covers I received would not hold air right out of the box. That said, the manufacturer handled it perfectly. I contacted them and they sent two replacement covers at no charge, which says a lot about their customer service and willingness to stand behind the product. The covers also come with vinyl repair patches, which is a nice bonus in case you accidentally puncture one yourself. Overall, these are highly effective, well thought out, and an excellent value. I’d strongly recommend them to anyone looking to keep pool water warm longer and cut down on heater usage.

Waste of money
I ordered these as a warehouse deal, so they were probably already returned. They don't hold air very well. They end up clogging the skimmer, and they don't have much of an effect on the temperature of the pool. Big effort and expense, little return.

I'd skip this product if I had a do over.
Just built a pool and opted to hold off on the typical roof solar while absorbing the initial cost of the build. I have heard good things about solar pool covers, but didn't want the hassle of taking it off and on. I thought these would be a close second. They just don't really work and they take up a ton of deck space when you pull them out. They became known as the giant stack of pancakes during our swimming season. They "might" retain a small amount of heat overnight, but it seems that the shade they cast in the pool eliminates any heat gains on a hot day. They definitely get warm when sitting in the sun and you would think that as a heat sink, they would transfer some heat to the water. They just don't. I compared temperature gains on multiple similar weather days, both with and without the blue pancakes. No substantial differences. I'm tempted to cut out some of the bottom blue section to try that before I throw them away. As of right now though, I'd say they are a complete waste of money.

Must buy!!
The solar inflatables are awesome! The pool water is definitely warmer and it keeps the debris out of my pool. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a solar pool heater solution.

Potential fix for the flat float problem
I typed a long one, page refreshed lost all Short one Pool 12' x 24' took 15 to cover 2nd year 11 out of 15 flat Salvaged the $350 loss and still having to warm pool by.. 40 pool noodles Two 6' 3/4" PVC pipe Cut 4" segments (PVC pipe cutter $20) Connected 3 noodles per float $80 salvaged the floats, they don't work optimally but they trap the heat overnight (which fit my need of cutting power bill on my pool heater)

Not worth the money
Approximately half of the solor pool heaters have holes in them. They provide patches but they don’t work. Very disappointed.

They work with a little help.
The solar pool heaters work well but require attention from time to time. These work best when the center dome is full of air and not collapsed. So periodically, I get in the pool and lift them up and trap more air in them as I pull them down. I did not overinflate but left room for expansion due to the heat from the sun, so as not too stress the seams. It’s good to clean them when you take them out to swim because they will collect dust and debris. Occasionally, the wind will stack them up or blow them out of the pool, which I’m sure varies with location. Now that we are into the cooler Fall season, I have packed them away until spring. I think I can get a few years out of these.

Unsatisfied
3/12 of this order had holes within the seams. We attempted patching but because it’s in the seams they still don’t hold air. I wouldn’t buy this product again
