I compared several budget alarm systems to replace an ageing BT setup. What I wanted was straightforward: a simple keypad alongside smartphone control — and this system fits that brief well. Setup is fairly easy, and the base station doubles as both a Wi-Fi hub and the internal alarm sounder. It’s true there’s no external siren, but realistically most people pay little attention to outside alarms anyway. Yes, the base station could theoretically be unplugged by an intruder — but if I wanted something close to impenetrable, I’d be looking at systems costing £300 or more. This is about peace of mind. Asleep and alone, it’s ideal. Away from home, a quick glance at my phone tells me all I need to know. Best feature-scheduling the system to arm my doors at night. The system is well presented and clearly well thought out. That said, I did need to make risers for the door sensors, as uPVC doors aren’t always flush with their frames. Ring supplies risers as standard, and X-Sense could easily include them for pennies. A bright, visible window sticker would also have been a welcome addition. For the price, I’m very happy with it — it’s another sensible layer of home security. One week on I added a Leak Detector to the system..top notch!

Please watch the video to understand the level of customisation and how the app works. 1. It is very reasonably priced compared to other security systems and the app is free too. 2. It comes well packaged and with all the batteries, I did not need to bvuy any extra. 3. It is very easy to set up, in total it took less than 45 mins but a lot of that time was sticking sensors onto doors. 4. All of the sensors and motion detectors come with adhesive on the back so you don't need to screw any component if you don't want to. I haven't. 5. The app is very responsive and highly customisable.

I bought this to replace my failing alarm system of some 16 years and I am definitely not disappointed. So far I'm pretty much delighted with it. The only thing letting it down is the lack of either a 'Bell Box', or a set of volt free contacts to trigger a regular bell box/external sounder. The fact the hub is not battery powered (powered by USB C connector) is easily overcome by putting a cheap power USB bank in the feed to the hub. Everything went brilliantly well with the installation with no hitches at all. The Alexa integration was simple. I just added the X-Sense Skill in the Alexa app and it did most of the work. I gave permission to the Alexa app to be able to disarm the alarm (it's quite secure as you;re prompted for the alarm code). One reviewer complained about constant notifications on the Smartphone, but as of March 2025 you can separately configure door-open and door-closed 'Notifications' in the X-Sense app for each magnetic door contact, so I'm not sure if it's still an issue. Overall, I think this is a great alarm system with very good integration into the app and Alexa. I only knocked off a star for not having an external sounder option.

Really nice security system - easy to set up and install. Excellent app on iPhone - advises you when ever an alarmed door is opened or closed and of course advises when the alarm is triggered with siren and notification to phone. I bought this to replace a Wi-Fi system and so far have found it as good or if not better at half the price and without a contract. Another good feature is that you can add more components to your system as/when required. I would highly recommend the X Sense Security System and will be doing so to my friends and family.

This was so easy to set up and works great. Able to activate and deactivate the alarm from the app and rename the sensors in the app to which door has been opened etc. Very well thought out system and gives me peace of mind that my garage is secure. The motion detection is quick from been tripped to notifying your phone.

Fantastic and small essential equipment for a flat and such a bargain for the price. All items came in one single box secured in its own plastic holder. The items came all supplied with a set of batteries and a power supply for the hub, all other items are mountable and are powered by batteries. The key pad is small and so easy to operate and use, it also comes with a panic button on the side of the pad. Once the key pad is set up and connected to your phone you can set the alarm without using the keypad. All mountable items can be secured with the 3m sticky pads or you can secure it with screws. The only concern is with the hub as it is powered by the house electrical power, when a power cut happens will the rest of the equipment work as there is no ability to install batteries ( this is the only reason I knocked a star off, if it had this facility it would defo be a 5/5)

Es geht schon mal mit einem guten Handbuch los und einer noch besseren Installationsanweisung in der App weiter. Vor allem die Maßangaben und alternativen Sensorplatzierungen haben sehr gefallen. Das Installieren der Sensoren ist einfach und wird bei Bedarf unterstützt durch Halterungen mit angebrachten Klebestreifen und Bohrlöchern. Auch sind Dübel und Schrauben mit dabei. Bei Türen/Fenstern mit Höhenunterschied der Zarge zum Tür-/Fensterrahmen muss man nicht unbedingt einen Ausgleich durch Unterbau schaffen. Der Magnetkontakt arbeitet auch zuverlässig, wenn beide Sensorteile komplett versetzt angebracht werden (siehe Foto). Bei Test des Sensors über die App muss man manchmal geduldig sein. Es kann einige Sekunden dauern. Auch fiel mir auf, dass man nach Start des Tests warten sollte, bis der Timer für den Test startet und dann erst den Kontakt öffnet und schliesst. Wenn man den Testprozess zu früh beginnt ("Sanduhr" läuft noch) kann es sein, dass der Test nicht erfolgreich abgeschlossen wird. Hier wünsche ich mir eine bessere Anweisung/Hilfestelltung in der App. Wenn man das System im Zuhause-Mode hat, dann ist es m.E. empfehlenswert, die Signaltöne der Sensoren auszuschalten (Einstellungen des Sensors --> Aktiviere Sensortöne = AUS), da sonst die Basisstation den eingestellten Ton bei jedem Öffnen eines Tür-/Fensterkontaktes abspielt. Die Signallautstärke der Basisstation ist überraschend hoch für das kleine Gerät. Im EFH ist er bei mir an jeder Stelle klar hörbar, sicherlich auch für Einbrecher, die zumeist am Abend oder nachts kommen. Zudem kann man das System in Alexa einbinden und damit so manche zusätzliche Funktion realisieren (bei mir läuft das Surroundsystem mit Sirenentönen und bestimmte Leuchten gehen an). Ich hoffe dennoch, dass das Portfolio von X-Sense erweitert wird mit Kamera, Sirene, Klingel, Lampen etc. und/oder mit Erweiterungsfunktionen (Routinen) beim Auslösen von Alarmen (ähnlich wie bei Alexa). Das Manko bei Alexa ist, dass Alexa nicht weiss, ob das System im Home Mode oder Ausser Haus Mode ist. Das heisst, dass man die Alexa-Routinen im Home Mode deaktivieren sollte, da sonst das ganze Programm (Routinen) abgespielt wird, wenn man selbst ein Fenster oder Tür öffnet. Das würde ja entfallen, wenn X-Sense seine Funktionalität dahingehend erweitert. Es gibt auch etwas Kritik von mir: Die Portfoliolücken (Kamera, Lampe, ...) habe ich bereits genannt. Die Stabilität der App konnte etwas besser sein. So manchesmal läuft die "Sanduhr" und dann bricht der Vorgang ab. Ist mir mehrfach passiert beim abschliessenden Sensortest (Lösung siehe oben) aber auch beim Umschalten von Funktionen, z.B. Home / Ausser Haus. Am besten nimmt man bei Letzterem das Handgerät (Tastenfeld), das funktioniert zuverlässig und schnell. Eine Funktionalität vermisse ich schon etwas. Wenn man erreichen will, dass das System beim Nachhausekommen etwas Zeit verstreichen lässt (Eintrittsverzögerung einstellbar von 0 bis 180 sec), bis es den Alarm auslöst (Zeit zum Deaktivieren des Alarms), dann kann man dies nicht einzelnen Sensoren (z.B. Haustüre) zuordnen, sondern alle Tür-/Fenstersensoren sind damit verzögert. Damit hätte ein Einbrecher bis zu 180 sec Zeit, bis der Alarm auslöst. Ist wohl nicht wirklich entscheidend, aber das könnte doch per Softwaremenue m.E. einfach geändert werden. Es gibt aber workarounds dazu: Entweder per Smartphone (App) vor dem Öffnen der Haustüre den Mode auf Zuhauee umstellen oder wie ich, die Haustüre gar nicht mit einem Sensor versehen (die Haustüre ist zumeist die schwierigste Einstiegsstelle, weit schwieriger als die vielen Fenster) und im nachgelagerten Bereich, z.B. Flur, einen Bewegungssensor setzen. Auch würde ich mir wünschen, dass das Angebot (Sets, Einzelteile) kundenfreundlicher zusammengestellt wird. Für meinen Setup mit Temperatursensoren, Wassersensoren, Tür/Fenstersensoren habe ich 3 Sets benötigt (Preisgründe) und damit 3 Basisstationen statt 1 benötigten erhalten. Mir wäre viel lieber, dass man 1 Basisstation fair bepreist anbietet und Sets ausschliesslich mit Sensoren. Dann entfällt so mancher Elektronikabfall. Oder die Funktionalität der Basisstation wird erweitert mit der Funktion Inhouse-Sirene (mit Routinen-Optionen). Zuguterletzt möchte ich noch das Thema Datenschutz ansprechen. Nach meinen Recherchen ist die App schon recht sparsam mit den Datenerhebungen im Vergleich zu so manch anderen Apps, aber ich sehe zumindest die Möglichkeit, dass die Angaben im Play Store nicht ausreichend sind. Dort heisst es, dass keine Daten an Dritte gegeben werden. Ein Check bei Exodus Privacy ergab, dass man zumindest Hinweise auf Tracker von Countly und Google Firebase Analytics fand. Wenn man dann noch die Datenschutzerklärung von X-Sense liesst, dann kann man noch einiges mehr hinein interpretieren. Ich möchte hier nicht zu kleinlich sein, da ich selbst noch viel zu viele Datenkraken am Hals habe (Amazon/Alexa/Google und wie sie alle heissen), aber es ist zumindest erwähnenswert. Die Nutzerberechtigung Kamera kann man deaktivieren, da diese nur für das Einrichten der Sensoren über Matrixcode benötigt würde und es optional auch eine Menueauswahl gibt. Fazit: Meine Erwartungen wurden voll und ganz erfüllt. Wenn jemand mehr erwartet und Kritik übt, dann sollte er einfach nur die Beschreibung von X-Sense lesen und in deren Shop nach weiteren Infos suchen (kleiner Seitenhieb an den einen oder anderen Rezensenten). Die Installation der Sensoren ist ausreichend flexibel und wird erleichtert durch aufgebrachtes Klebeband bzw. mitgelieferter Dübel und Schrauben. Das System ist eine tolle Basis für hoffentlich künftige Erweiterungen. Die Sicht- und Fühlqualität ist ausgezeichnet (Spaltmaß perfekt, Öffnungsmechanik für Batteriewechsel leichtgängig). Ich habe heute den Service angerufen und habe nach der "obligatorischen" Bandansage sofort eine kompetente und hilfreiche, geduldige Service-Mitarbeiterin am Telefon gehabt - vorbildlich. Abschliessend zum Preis. Ich bekam sehr viel Basisfunktionalität mit toller Qualität zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Mit insgesamt ca. 200€ ist das Haus gut "verdrahtet" (8 Tür/Fenstersensoren, 2 Bewegungsmelder und 3 Wassermelder aber leider auch 3 Basisstationen) und gibt mir mehr Sicherheit. Wer klar mehr will wie Akku-Pufferung der Basisstation, richtige Sirenen u.a.m., ist hier (noch) falsch aufgehoben. Dann muss er/sie für ansprechende Qualität aber auch deutlich mehr Budget bereitstellen. Ich würde es wieder so machen, bereue meine Kaufentscheidung nicht. Insgesamt 5/5 Sterne gemessen an der versprochenen Funktionalität/Leistung/Preis und 3,5/5 Sterne gemessen an meinen funktionalen Wünschen.

Añadir que la aplicación es muy intuitiva y fácil de asociar los distintos elementos que componen el sistema. También he instalado el sistema de detección de humos/CO de X-Sense y creo que ha sido una buena opción. Saludos
