a bit of a revelation to this single malt drinker
As a longtime single-malt fan who was previously underwhelmed by the big-name, overly sweet commercial bourbons, I was genuinely surprised by how good the Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey is and now slightly annoyed at myself for not finding out about bourboun sooner The high-rye mash gives it a wonderfully bold, complex spice and a smooth finish without any cloying sweetness. Versatile addition to the drinks cabinet too as it's great for sipping, having with a mixer and is the base of an almost endless number of cocktails. It punches way above its price point and completely changed my view on bourbon. Highly recommended!

A beautiful bourbon
I don't leave many reviews but after trying this bourbon I thought i should. I have always been a single malt drinker and never really enjoyed bourbon, I have tried Jack Daniels and Makers Mark but found them a bit sweet for my particular taste. I had seen Bulleit Bourbon on one of my favourite shows ( Yellowstone ) and fancied trying it. I have just ordered my 3rd bottle whilst it's on offer as I absolutely love this whisky. I drink it neat and the taste is beautiful and smooth, I have been converted to bourbon! I actually enjoy this more than my Glenfiddich. I would thoroughly recommend this to any whisky drinker.

more oak, more depth… step up from the standard bulleit
picked this up after trying the regular bulleit and it’s definitely a noticeable upgrade. straight away you get more depth and a bit more balance. on the nose it’s richer. more oak, some vanilla, a bit of dried fruit coming through as well. smells more “mature” if that makes sense. palate is smoother than I expected for the proof. still has that bulleit spice in there but it’s toned down with more caramel, oak and a slightly darker sweetness. mouthfeel is decent. not super thick but has enough weight to it to feel like a proper sipping bourbon. finish is longer than the standard one, bit smoky, bit dry, and hangs around nicely without being harsh. build quality (bottle/presentation) is solid. looks good on a shelf and makes a decent gift without being flashy. performance-wise it’s best neat in my opinion. you can mix it, but it feels a bit wasted when it’s this smooth. only downside is if you’re expecting something completely different, it still carries that bulleit profile, just more refined. for the price though, good value for money. solid step up, easy to drink, and a good option if you want something a bit more mature without going too expensive.

A boss Rye from Bulleit
A damn good Rye from Bulleit, the flavour profile's been growing me recently, 45% ABV and 95% rye in the mash bill is cherry on the cake, I can definitely see myself buying this bottle again for sure 😀 👍

Interesing and refreshing.
I purchased this solid offering when it was on sale for £22 and am very glad to have snapped up another before the price went back up to £33.09. It's touch and go whether I'd buy it again at full price - I'll get back to you when I've finished the second! It was a much better sipper than I thought it would be and a refreshing change from the heavy sweetness of some of the bourbon whiskey I'd been sipping recently. For me this has lovely grassy, sweet pine notes on the nose, with a surprise of gin botanicals drifting over a light vanilla and caramel sweetness. On tasting, there's a nice spicy rye arrival, which is quite zesty, alongside the gin botanicals which continue on from the aroma. Although not overly complex on the palate, with quite a short, dry oak finish, this juice really does reward a good long chew before swallowing, where the more vegetal flavours fend quite mouthwateringly with the light sweetness and some bitterness from the oak, for some happy sour candy before it's gone. I imagine it would be a really good mixer and it does hold up with a little water. But for the last couple of weekends my wife and I have found it a perfect accompaniment to a few games of pool: interesting and refreshing enough for a pause between doings, but not so demanding or complex a dram that it would be wasted on a more lively party atmosphere. One last thing: it was a tad more lively on first opening. So if it seems a bit too sharp at first, you might find that, if sipping neat, leaving it in the glass to settle may help this. After a while with some air in the bottle, we did notice that the drink had mellowed just enough for some more balancing sweetness to shine.

Nice smooth flavour
Frequent buyer as a sipping whisky. Nice smooth taste. I use the ceramic frozen cubes instead of ice cubes to keep the flavour. Keep in fridge too

Nice Smooth Bourbon
A huge bargain on sale at £18.50. In Scotland with the SNP minimum unit price you couldn't even buy a 45% whisky under around £20.50 A nice smooth bourbon to drink as well. A steal at the sale price.

Cowboy or Gentleman.
I'm usually a single malt drinker. Lagavullin, Talisker, Ardbeg etc. whilst I do have numerous bottles of these ready to drink I thought I'd try this bourbon. Is it as good as the others mentioned no. Is it a good sipping whiskey, no. Is it worth a try, definitely. With just a splash of lemonade or coke is a definite hit for me. At £18.50 a bottle is a damn site cheaper than lagavullin and gets you just as merry. So much so, ive just got another bottle and will keep this in my rotation as an easy whiskey when I feel like being a rowdy cowboy instead of a civilized gentleman. Give it a go, definitely better than Jack and Buffalo but I do like the makers mark as well.
